    Abstract: A needle punched papermaking felt is described which comprises a plurality of layers of foundation fabrics formed in an endless form by joining the opposite edges of long woven form foundation fabrics or foundation fabrics woven in an endless form, laying over one or both sides of said foundation fabrics batts consisting of synthetic fibers or natural fibers or mixtures thereof, and by felting by a needle punching process to cause the component fibers to be entangled with each other. A thin layer of batts consisting of synthetic fibers, natural fibers or their mixtures, may be interposed between the adjacent layers of the foundation fabrics.
