  • Patent number: 4935485
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a heat hardenable coating composition containing(A) a prepolymer containing an average of 2-4 ketoxime-blocked isocyanate groups, having an average molecular weight of about 500 to 15,000 and based on an aromatic polyisocyanate and a polyhydroxyl component which contains about 20-100% by weight of ethylene oxide units and(B) a cross-linking agent corresponding to the following formula ##STR1## in which R and R.sup.1 denote H or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl, the equivalent ratio of blocked isocyanate groups in (A) to NH.sub.2 groups in (B) being about 1.35:1 to 0.95:1.The invention is also directed to the coated substrates obtained from the compositions according to the invention.

  • Patent number: 4894428
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a process for coating substrates with polyurethane ureas which is characterized in that a substrate is coated with a product, which has been obtained by the reation of (A) a prepolymer based on an aromatic polyisocyanate containing on average two ketoxime-blocked NCO groups and having an average molecular weight of about 500 to 15,000 with (B) a chain-extending agent corresponding to the formulaH.sub.2 N--R'--NH.sub.2in which R' is an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic radical, in the presence of solvents at temperatures above 50.degree. C. and at an equivalent ratio of blocked NCO groups to NH.sub.2 groups of 1.43 to 1.02, wherein after about 40 to 90% of the available amino groups have reacted, the reaction is completed with crosslinking at temperatures above 120.degree. C.The present invention is also directed to the coated substrates produced by this process.

  • Patent number: 4657613
Abstract: This invention relates to PU-coating compositions containing solvent and combinations of crosslinking agents and to a process for producing polyurethane coatings on the principle of heat-activated, one-coat reverse coating by knife-coating the polyurethane coating composition onto a temporary support, drying the layer and laminating the textile substrates using preferably heated pressure rollers, followed by heating at elevated temperatures, the coating compositions used being solvent-containing, 20 to 60% compositions of a polyurethane mixture I containing(A) relatively soft polyurethanes and(B) relatively hard one-component polyurethanes and a crosslinker combination II containing(C) formaldehyde-urea and/or formaldehyde-melamine resins and crosslinking catalysts and(D) aliphatic and/or aromatic polyisocyanates, particularly blocked polyisocyanates, and, optionally, additions of soluble cellulose esters, handle-improving agents, optionally polysiloxanes containing oxyalkylene groups and other standard additi

  • Patent number: 4308184
Abstract: The present disclosure is concerned with solvent free or very low solvent coating compositions suitable for use on flexible sheet form substrates particularly textile substrates. The composition comprises a urethane group-containing prepolymer with OH or CONH.sub.2 terminal groups mixed with a urea or melamine formaldehyde resin and a stable aqueous polymer dispersion or solution. The composition may also contain small amounts of an organic solvent. The coating can be applied to the substrate by direct or reverse coating techniques.
