  • Patent number: 7635056
Abstract: A pressure plate arrangement for a friction clutch includes a housing rotatably fixed to an abutment arrangement for joint rotation about an axis of rotation and a plate arrangement with at least one intermediate plate and a pressure plate. At least one of the intermediate and pressure plates is mounted in the housing and axially movable relative thereto and rotateable about the axis of rotation. An energy storage device coupled to the housing generates an elastic restoring force on the plate arrangement. A releasing spring arrangement located between the housing and plate arrangement is tensioned to generate an elastic restoring force on the pressure plate in a second direction opposite to the first direction. A clutch disk arrangement is clamped between the abutment arrangement and the at least one intermediate plate, or between any two plates of the plate arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20080296116
Abstract: A friction clutch is configured with a pressure plate arrangement having: a housing rotatably fixed to an abutment arrangement for joint rotation about an axis of rotation; a plate arrangement having at least one intermediate plate and a pressure plate, at least one of the intermediate and pressure plates being mounted in the housing and operative to axially move relative thereto and to rotate about the axis of rotation; an energy storage device coupled to the housing and operative to generate a elastic restoring force exerted on the plate arrangement, the energy storage device being coupled to the pressure plate; a releasing spring arrangement located between the housing and plate arrangement and coupled thereto, the releasing spring arrangement being tensioned to generate an elastic restoring force exerted at least on the pressure plate in a second direction opposite to the first direction in response to the elastic restoring force; and a clutch disk arrangement clamped between the abutment arrangement and

  • Patent number: 6986415
Abstract: A pressure plate assembly for a friction clutch includes a housing connectable with an abutment arrangement for rotation therewith about an axis of rotation. The housing has an outer axial side and an inner axial side. A pressure plate is mounted in the housing so that it faces the inner axial side. The pressure plate is rotatable with the housing about the axis of rotation. The pressure plate includes actuating sections which extend past a radially outer edge of the housing. An energy storage element is mounted on the outer side of the housing such that the energy storage device exerts a force on the actuating sections for urging the pressure plate away from the inner axial side. An assembly pretensioning arrangement is operative for holding the energy storage element in a pretensioned assembly position in which the energy storage device does not exert a force on the housing.

  • Patent number: 6874607
Abstract: A friction clutch with a pressure plate 6, which is mounted nonrotatably but with freedom of axial movement in a clutch housing 5, this pressure plate 6 being actuated by a pressure spring 7 in the direction toward a clutch disk 8, which can be clamped between the pressure plate 6 and an opposing pressure plate 1. More-or-less radially pretensioned friction springs 18 of a friction damping device are installed between the pressure plate 6 and a component with respect to which the pressure plate 6 can move in the axial direction. The friction springs 18 are mounted on spacer bolts 12, which project axially from the clutch housing 5, these bolts passing through corresponding openings 23 in a diaphragm spring, which serves as the pressure spring 7, the diaphragm spring being mounted on the spacer bolts 12 in such a way that its plane can be tilted.
