Patent number: 10273735Abstract: An apparatus for opening and closing a deck lid of a vehicle body includes a jack-screw type drive unit having two elongated relatively rotatable drive elements which are threadably engaged for bi-directional displacement. An electric motor engages the rotatable drive element. A first mounting device pivotally connects the rotatable drive element to a relatively fixed point on the vehicle. A second mounting device pivotally connects the non-rotatable drive element to the deck lid, or vice versa. The motor is energized to affect bi-directional control of the drive unit while enabling low back-drive effort. A concentric spring counters loading due to the weight of the deck lid.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 2015Date of Patent: April 30, 2019Assignee: STRATTEC POWER ACCESS LLCInventors: Jeffrey S. Patent number: 6571660Abstract: An adjustable pedal assembly includes a support structure adapted to connect to a vehicle, with the support structure defining first and second slots arranged in a spaced-apart manner. A pedal assembly is disposed adjacent the support structure, where the pedal assembly includes a pedal. First and second pins extend from the pedal assembly through the first and second slots whereby the pedal assembly is supported for sliding movement on the support structure along the slots. A linear actuator is interconnected with the pedal assembly for sliding the pedal assembly to a desired position along the support structure. The invention may be adapted for use in connection with brake pedals, clutch pedals, and accelerator pedals. In the case of accelerator pedals, the invention can be adapted for use with conventional pedals as well as electronic throttle control pedals.Type: GrantFiled: April 17, 2001Date of Patent: June 3, 2003Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Waldemar Wawrzyniec Gmurowski, Brian Norman Orr

Patent number: 6450061Abstract: An adjustable pedal system has a first pedal pivotally attached to the translatable nut of a first jack screw actuator for adjusting the fore and aft position of the first pedal and a second pedal pivotally attached to the translatable nut of a second jack screw actuator for adjusting the fore and aft position of the second pedal and a third pedal pivotally attached to the translatable nut of a third jack screw actuator for adjusting the fore and aft position of the third pedal. An electric motor drives the translatable nuts fore and aft, and a motor control switch assembly controlled by the fore and aft movements of two of the nuts maintain alignment of the three pedals. A memory circuit may be incorporated into the system for moving the pedals to a preselected adjusted position or indicating the preselected adjusted position. The memory circuit may be separate or incorporated in a seat memory module.Type: GrantFiled: August 16, 2000Date of Patent: September 17, 2002Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.Inventors: David Joseph Chapman, Waldemar Wawrzyniec Gmurowski

Publication number: 20020096011Abstract: An adjustable pedal system has a first pedal pivotally attached to the translatable nut of a first jack screw actuator for adjusting the fore and aft position of the first pedal and a second pedal pivotally attached to the translatable nut of a second jack screw actuator for adjusting the fore and aft position of the second pedal. An electric motor is drivingly connected to the first jack screw actuator and the second jack screw actuator to drive the translatable nuts fore and aft. The fore and aft alignment of the first pedal with respect to the second pedal is maintained by a switch assembly that is mechanically connected to the translatable nuts of the two jack screw actuators.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 3, 2001Publication date: July 25, 2002Inventors: David Joseph Chapman, Waldemar Wawrzyniec Gmurowski

Patent number: 6301993Abstract: A cam-guided adjustable pedal actuator assembly for a vehicle includes a housing for connection to vehicle structure and a linear actuator operatively connected to the housing. The cam-guided adjustable pedal actuator assembly also includes a pedal operatively connected to the linear actuator for adjusting a position of the pedal relative to the housing. The pedal has a cam surface to cooperate with the housing as a force is applied to the pedal such that the housing and the pedal effectively act as one solid member to transfer force to an actuating member in a manner of a conventional pedal.Type: GrantFiled: October 18, 1999Date of Patent: October 16, 2001Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Brian Norman Orr, Waldemar Wawrzyniec Gmurowski

Patent number: 6151833Abstract: A radially adjustable guide for a flexible line, a cable or tape, of an automotive regulator assembly is presented. The guide has a longitudinal channel disposed therein for receiving and guiding the flexible line, wherein the guide slidably captures the flexible line within the channel. The guide may be tubular. Alternatively, the guide may include a base portion; a pair of resilient arms extending upwardly from the base portion, defining the channel; and extensions extending inwardly from upper ends of the resilient arms for slidably capturing the flexible line in the channel. Additionally, the base portion of the guide may include a planar outer surface.Type: GrantFiled: February 26, 1999Date of Patent: November 28, 2000Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Waldemar Wawrzyniec Gmurowski, Jayprakash Uttamchand Raisoni, Zinovy Tyves
