  • Patent number: 12076954
Abstract: A method for marking a tire having a tread and two sidewalls delimiting the tread, by inflating the tire mounted on a rim, and when in the inflated state, making, on at least one of the sidewalls, at least one marking which is at least partially colored, wherein during the inflation, the tire is inflated to a pressure greater than the nominal inflation pressure of the tire.

  • Patent number: 11904638
Abstract: A tread (12) for a tire (10) which has a tread surface intended to contact a road surface during running. The tread (12) has at least one cavity opening onto the tread surface when new, called external cavity (14), which has length L, width W and central plane P. The external cavity (14) has bottom (16) and at least two opposite lateral walls (18a, 18b) extending from bottom (16) and a mechanism (20) for ejecting stones during running, which has two protuberances (22a, 22b) from bottom (16) of external cavity, which are disposed at least partially opposite one another at a distance d. Each protuberance (22a, 22b) is inclined respectively from a lateral wall (18a, 18b) of the external cavity (14) towards the central plane P. The distance d between the two protuberances (22a, 22b) is less than or equal to 10% of width W of external cavity (14).

  • Publication number: 20220363025
Abstract: A method for depositing at least one colored layer on the surface of a vulcanized tire sidewall includes applying by inkjet a colored layer to the whole of the sidewall or to at least a part of the sidewall of the tire and then, after drying, selectively removing the colored layer in such a manner as to create a first pattern. A tire obtained on completion of that method is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20220048266
Abstract: A tire tread (1) having a tread pattern depth Hm, with at least two longitudinally oriented grooves (31, 41, 42), at least one of them being a complex groove (31), that in the new state, is alternately external cavities (311) that open onto the tread surface and internal cavities (312) that are hidden within the thickness of the tread. The external cavities (311) have a mean longitudinal length Lm, a depth at least equal to 0.9 Hm, and are separated by internal cavities having a mean longitudinal length Li, Li being at least equal to 0.5*Lm and at most equal to 2*Lm. At least one rib (21) in the longitudinal direction and delimited by a complex groove with transverse sipes (5) made at a mean spacing Pm. The spacing Pm of the transverse sipes is at most equal to the mean longitudinal length Lm of the external cavities (311).

  • Patent number: 11124025
Abstract: A groove of tire thread having a plurality of first and second portions, each delimited by facing walls spaced apart by a maximum width measured at the tread surface and approaching one another such that, at a depth between 20 and 80% of the total depth they are spaced apart by a width less than the maximum width or facing walls spaced apart by a minimum width measured at the tread and diverge from one another such that, at a depth between 20% and 80% of the total depth of the groove, they are spaced apart from one another by a width greater than the width. A plurality of first and second portions of groove so as to form a continuous passage between all the portions of groove in order to allow liquid to flow in the groove regardless of the level of wear.

  • Patent number: 11034191
Abstract: A tire tread including a tread surface adapted to come into contact with a road surface has at least one main groove that, when new, opens onto the tread surface of the tread, this main groove having a maximum depth. The main groove includes a plurality of first groove portions and a plurality of second groove portions, the first and second groove portions being arranged alternately such that a first portion is followed by a second portion. Each first groove portion has a width that decreases with wear, and each second groove portion has a width that increases with wear.

  • Publication number: 20200346495
Abstract: Tire tread (1) comprising a tread surface intended to come into contact with a road surface, this tread (1) having main groove (2) that, when new, opens onto tread surface (10). Main groove (2) has a maximum depth (P), and comprises a plurality of first groove portions (21) and a plurality of second groove portions (22) arranged alternately such that a first portion (21) is followed by a second portion (22). Each first groove portion (21) has a width that decreases with wear, each first groove portion (21) having a maximum width (L1) measured on the tread surface when new and a maximum width (L1?) at the depth (P), the maximum width (L1?) at the depth (P) being less than the maximum width (L1).
