  • Patent number: 5246201
Abstract: An orifice assembly for use in sealed fluid connection between a gas inlet and gas outlet in a gas flow meter includes a rotor positioned for rotatable movement in fluid connection with both the gas inlet and gas outlet. The rotor includes a plurality of bores in a first circular plate and a matching number of gas passageways in a second circular plate, the passageways being aligned with the bores. The rotor also includes an annular groove separating the first and second circular plates and in fluid communication with the gas inlet for introducing gas into the gas passageways. A plug is adjustably positioned in each bore and axially movable toward the corresponding gas passageway to partially block gas flow from the inlet toward the outlet.

  • Patent number: 4909476
Abstract: An improvement in the orifice assembly of a high pressure gas flow meter configures the orifice assembly with a plurality of brass disks arranged in a circular array with orifices of different diameters through the brass disks to provide a variety of gas flow rates through the orifice assembly. Each disk is held in position by an O-ring disposed between the disks and a retaining plate fixed to the rotor.

  • Patent number: 4597684
Abstract: Described briefly, according to a typical embodiment of the invention, a roller has a core comprising plurality of relatively hard and rigid segments fastened together in a stack and rotatably mounted to a shaft. The roller core has internal baffled passageways established by grooves in abutting faces of segments, so that, when paint is supplied to a cavity in the center of the stack, it will depart through these passageways in the roller in a controlled manner. A replaceable sock-like cover is received on the roller stack and secured by end retainers. The roller can be easily and completely disassembled for cleaning.

  • Patent number: 4588318
Abstract: A paint roller is provided with a removable sleeve receiving a cover having a pile on a stretchable flexible backing. A reversible, speed controllable pump on a hand cart provides paint to the roller from a supply under control of a switch at the roller handle. The roller handle contains a radio transmitter for transmission of pump control signals to a receiver in a pump housing mounted to the hand cart. A peristaltic pump is used for the pumping, and is reversible to facilitate draining of the system back to the paint source. Opening of a door on the pump housing releases pump roller pressure from pump tubing, provides access to pump rollers and pump tubing, and thereby facilitates installation and removal of the pump tubing. Conventional water hose fittings are provided to facilitate cleaning by connection to a hose bib of a domestic water system, if desired.

  • Patent number: 4315525
Abstract: A single lever mixing valve adapted for proportioning hot and cold water and for controlling the volume of flow. A valve body has fluid passages which terminate in two spaced apart inlet ports and an outlet port to a valve seat. A generally spherical closure member is universally movable within the valve body so as to normally cover and seal the inlet ports in a closed position. Two recesses in the surface of the closure member are spaced apart by a divider portion and extend circumferentially relative to the inlet ports. Due to this configuration, the closure member can be moved to open mixing positions in which each recess completes a fluid passage between one of the inlet ports and the outlet port. The divider portion can be positioned to partially or fully close one inlet port while the other inlet port remains open.
