  • Patent number: 12650601
Abstract: A computer processing method includes receiving sensor data from a number of sensors comprising a first sensor facing away from a user, and a second sensor facing towards the user. The method also includes controlling an electronic tinting component associated with a translucent optical element based on the sensor data. The electronic tinting component adjusts optical element tint occlusion. The method further includes controlling at least one of a display brightness, display contrast, color composition, or field of view of a light engine assembly based on the sensor data. The method still further includes displaying content with the light engine assembly.

Abstract: Systems and techniques and provided for extended reality systems. In an example, a device may include at least one memory and at least one processor coupled to the at least one memory and configured to perform operations. The operations may include obtaining a position of an XR headset worn by a user, determining, for each three-dimensional (3D) object of a plurality of 3D objects of an XR scene, respective metadata including a respective asymmetric frustum relative to the position of the XR headset, rendering, at a respective render rate and based on the respective asymmetric frustum, each 3D object of the plurality of 3D objects in a respective two-dimensional plane to generate rendered objects, arranging the rendered objects in respective non-overlapping segments of a video frame; and transmitting the video frame and the respective metadata for each 3D object to the XR headset.

  • Publication number: 20250191106
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, devices, apparatus, and methods, including computer programs encoded on storage media, for reducing AR power consumption via bounding sparse content. A processor obtains, for a frame of graphics content, a first indication of at least one of: the frame, a graphics processor tracked active pixel region associated with the frame, tile tracking compression metadata of the frame, or render associated tiles of the frame. The processor computes, based on the first indication, a set of bounding areas for a set of active pixels of the frame. The processor configures a workload for at least one of a composition or a reprojection on the computed set of bounding areas. The processor outputs a second indication of the configured workload for at least one of the composition or the reprojection on the computed set of bounding areas for the set of active pixels of the frame.

  • Patent number: 11381743
Abstract: Systems, methods, and non-transitory media are provided for capturing a region of interest (ROI) with a multi-camera system. An example method can include initializing image sensors of an electronic device, each image sensor being initialized in a lower-power mode having a lower power consumption than a higher-power mode supported by one or more of the image sensors; obtaining images captured by the image sensors in the lower-power mode; determining, based on the images, that an ROI in a scene is within a field-of-view (FOV) of a first image sensor from the image sensors; based on determining that the ROI is within the FOV of the first image sensor, decreasing the lower-power mode of one or more second image sensors to a power-off mode or an additional lower-power mode having a lower power consumption than the lower-power mode; and capturing, using the first image sensor, an image of the ROI.

  • Publication number: 20210111976
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatus for display or graphics processing. Aspects of the present disclosure can determine a communication compatibility of one or more client devices. Further, aspects of the present disclosure can modify a user space or a kernel based on the communication compatibility of each of the one or more client devices. Additionally, aspects of the present disclosure can communicate at least some data with the one or more client devices based on the modified user space or the modified kernel. Aspects of the present disclosure can also modify the kernel based on the communication compatibility of each of the one or more client devices. Aspects of the present disclosure can also extend the kernel based on the communication compatibility.

  • Patent number: 10945141
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices of various embodiments may improve content presentation. The systems, methods, and devices may predict a state of a presentation environment to be induced by one or more stimuli in content to be presented to one or more users in the presentation environment. The systems, methods, and devices may predict, based on the predicted state of the presentation environment, a state of at least one communication link of one or more communication links. The systems, methods, and devices may perform an action in response to the predicted state of the at least one communication link meeting one or more criteria. The action may help improve content presentation.

  • Publication number: 20200084387
Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for placing a camera into a low power mode. An example device may include a memory and a processor. The processor is configured to determine that the first camera is to be placed into a low power mode. The first camera is in an active mode and has a first frame capture rate. The processor further is configured to generate and output a command for placing the first camera into the low power mode. Execution of the command causes the first camera to increase the first frame capture rate to a second frame capture rate and go into the low power mode from the active mode after increasing the first frame capture rate to the second frame capture rate.

  • Publication number: 20180247055
Abstract: A method is provided for protecting a host device from untrusted applications. Upon detecting an initial installation and/or execution of an application, the application is executed within a first virtual machine having a first level of monitoring and/or operating constraints. The application may be executed alone in the first virtual machine. Operation of the application may be monitored to ascertain the level of trust for the application. Upon ascertaining a change in a level of trust in the application, the application may be migrated to execute within a second virtual machine having a second level of monitoring and/or operating constraints, wherein the second level of monitoring and/or operating constraints has different operating restrictions than the first level of monitoring and/or operating constraints.

  • Patent number: 8578426
Abstract: Methods and systems enable mobile TV providers to select programs for broadcast based on viewer preference indications or votes. Information regarding candidate programs or content may be broadcast and displayed on mobile devices. A voting user interface may receive viewer preferences or votes and transmit vote information to the mobile TV broadcast network using a unicast network. Received voting information may be tallied to select a program or content for broadcast. Interim vote tallies may be broadcast to mobile devices until a voting session is terminated.
