  • Patent number: 7257528
Abstract: A method and apparatus for inputting Chinese character text into a machine such as a word processor or personal computer. The system consists of an apparatus which forms a closed feedback loop with the operator. The operator supplies stroke selections and other data to the apparatus which presents character selection information in response to the user's input. As a consequence of the feedback provided to the operator and subsequent actions by the operator, the desired Chinese text is produced with significant improvements in speed and ease.

  • Publication number: 20030023426
Abstract: Japanese kanji-kana words intended to be entered by a user are predicted from relative few key presses, each single key press indicating a group kana syllables of the fifty sounds table. Text input logic collects all known words which include any syllables of the groups specified in the order specified and sorts the words by relative frequency to predict which word the user is intending to enter. All known words which match the same consonant pattern are collected and those most frequently used are presented at the top of the list from which the user can select the intended word. Predicted word selections are presented to the user in kanji-kana form such that kana-kanji conversion is unnecessary.

  • Patent number: 4829421
Abstract: A system for transferring data from a data source such as a host computer to a data utilization device such as a remote high-speed line printer comprises a transmitter, communications circuit and receiver. The transmitter has a central processor which controls the transfer of data from an input section via a one line buffer to a communications storage buffer. The rate of transfer of data from the one line buffer is regulated by the available storage capacity of the communications storage buffer, with the higher the capacity the faster the rate of transfer.
