Abstract: A trunk lock including a latching plate for attachment to the upper section of a trunk, a hasp member hinged to an attachment plate to be affixed to the lower trunk section having a free end portion to overlie a keeper opening in the latching plate, a hollow cylindrical bolt housing projecting rearwardly of the hasp to nest in the keeper opening and having a pair of spring biased latching bolts to interlock behind the bounding edge of the keeper opening, a bolt actuator disk and key barrel member in the housing, and a throw away key captured in assembled relation with the bolt housing having a blade including a major leg extending substantially along the center axis of said key barrel and having a bendable end tab protruding rearwardly of the housing and bent behind the rear of the housing to retain the key therein.

Abstract: A plier type composite implement for removal of relatively deeply embedded weeds and grasses has jaws with relatively soft face pads thereon to inhibit crushing, cutting or tearing and to facilitate uniform pulling forces, and the handle ends thereof have a space or trowel-like element on the one end and a hoe or rake-like element on the other end.

Abstract: A combination lock and latching mechanism for desk drawers and similar receptacles, formed of a lock unit having plural, coaxial dial wheels and a stack of hubs therefor which are axially movable to decouple them from the dial wheels for changing the combination, together with a tiltable fence member and a vertically reciprocative locking bolt controlled thereby and by an operating lever accessible from in front of the lock, the lever also being operative to cause disengagement of the wheel hubs from their dial wheels in a predetermined condition of the lock for changing the lock combination.

Abstract: A trainer handle and brake for removable attachment to a skateboard comprises a handle strut, a handle bar fastened to one end of the strut, a clamp secured at the other end of the strut for clamping the strut to the front end of a skateboard in upstanding relation thereto, the clamp having an upper jaw extending substantially perpendicular to the strut, a lower jaw underlying the upper jaw, and an actuator for moving the jaws together and apart for securing and releasing the jaws relative to the front end of the skateboard, a pair of brake shoes pivotally supported beneath the lower clamp jaw having ends adapted to overlie the front wheels of the skateboard, a lever arm connected to the brake shoes, a brake handle pivotally supported to the handle strut adjacent the handle bar, and brake operating linkage connecting the brake handle with the lever arm for pivoting the brake shoes against the top of the front wheels when the brake handle is actuated.

Abstract: A key controlled lock mechanism for locking one or more sliders of a zipper fastener, wherein the lock member is of circular disc-like configuration having a cup-shaped cylindrical casing and a rear backing plate assembled together with a circular latch plate rotatable through an arc therebetween. The latch plate has a latch tongue and a recess receiving a key operated locking disc journaled in the casing and shaped to selectively lock or release the latch plate. Various forms of keepers are disclosed to be mounted on a receptacle closed by the zipper fastener or to be coupled with the pull tab of the zipper slider or formed by special shaping of the slider.

Abstract: A combination lawn and garden implement having a hollow elongated handle provided with a furrow forming and closing tool on one end shaped to form a furrow in the soil or close the furrow when used in a furrowing mode with the user in the standing position and shaped to define a trough to receive and guide seeds into the handle for discharge therethrough into a furrow when used in a planting mode. Various changeable tool attachments are provided for the other end of the handle to perform a variety of gardening and lawn working functions.

Abstract: A combination lock assembly for use as a zipper fastener lock or an exposed shackle padlock or similar applications, including a lock housing having therein plural dial wheel assemblies located in a first of plural parallel planes, a bolt plate located in another of said planes, and a fence plate located in another of said planes between the dial wheel assemblies and the bolt plate, the fence plate and bolt plate being movable in relatively perpendicular directions, and the fence plate and hub portions of the dial wheel assemblies having coactive shaped surfaces for controlling locking and unlocking movement of the fence plate for locking and unlocking the bolt plate.

Abstract: An exposed shackle padlock including a casing and a U-shaped shackle movable between an outer open position and an inner locked position. A fence plate is supported for rocking movement within the casing about a pivot lug between locking and unlocking relations with a notch in a shorter leg of the shackle. One or more peripherally gated rotatable tumbler wheel members adjacent a fence formation on the fence plate normally prevent its movement to the unlocking position and may form either a key operated locking mechanism or a dial operated combination locking mechanism. The tumbler members in the combination lock form are scrambled during opening movement of the shackle and the fence plate is displaceable relative to the pivot lug to permit return of the shackle to locked position.
