Abstract: A system and method for information distribution and retrieval. A preferred embodiment comprises downloading information, such as data, an application, and the like, from a server to a client. The information may be distributed to other clients without the need of a network connection to the server. Furthermore, modifications to the information made by the client may be distributed to other clients and the server. In another embodiment, the present invention downloads segments on an as needed basis. The segments may be reusable to provide further benefits. A relatively small application utilizes the reusable segments and an activity graph to perform specific functions.
