  • Publication number: 20170323885
Abstract: Various examples are provided for varactors (variable capacitors). Described are both simple and complex forms of variable capacitors and improvements thereof. The varactor can be sufficiently small (narrow) to be isolated on a chip as a single or plurality of devices. Devices may be expanded using multiple varactors. In addition, various varactors can further be improved by the inclusion of a thin material to reduce the resistance of the varactor device. Diodes may also be implemented using the disclosed forms.

  • Publication number: 20170310802
Abstract: Various examples are provided for emergency services access devices. In one embodiment, a telecommunication device includes one or more buttons that, when activated, cause the telecommunications device to communicate a corresponding emergency communication to one or more emergency services. The device can be configured to contact emergency services at the push of a button to indicate the type and location of the emergency. The severity of the emergency can also be indicated. The device can be used in a larger connected device topology that would enable more advanced functionality.

  • Patent number: 9252501
Abstract: Millimeter scale three dimensional antenna structures and methods for fabricating such structures are disclosed. According to one method, a first substantially planar die having a first antenna structure is placed on a first surface. A second substantially planar die having at least one conductive element is placed on a second surface that forms an oblique angle with the first surface. The first and second dies are mechanically coupled to each other such that the first die and the first antenna structure extend at the oblique angle to the second die.
