  • Patent number: 6189894
Abstract: A packing member has a unique improved geometry particularly adapted to the manufacture of urethane seal having a Shore A hardness of from about 90 to about 100, the packing member including an annular body defining a central opening and an annular axis, the annular body having an upper sealing portion and a lower support portion and a groove extending into the upper sealing portion, the groove having an outer outwardly inclined wall, an inner inwardly wall and a bottom wall; the upper sealing portion of the annular body including radially extending inner and outer sealing lips formed adjacent to at least a portion of the groove, the outer sealing lip extending axially beyond the inner sealing lip.

  • Patent number: 4718170
Abstract: A vertical alignment apparatus has a light and a light fixture attached to a cable to be lowered into the cylinder to be aligned. A disk mounted on top of the light fixture and centered about the light fixture and the cable causes the light emitted from the light fixture to form a halo between the disk and the wall of the cylinder. A tripod on top of the cylinder movingly centers the light, light fixture and disk in the cylinder. The method of the invention involves lowering the apparatus into the cylinder. The light fixture is activated to create a halo of light around the disk. The light fixture is then raised up the casing, and the casing is adjusted until the halo has circular consistency.

  • Patent number: 4473100
Abstract: A clamping device for aiding a carpenter in applying weather boards to a building. The clamping device includes: (1) a first, long, flat member terminating in a "hook"; (2) a second, longer, flat member pivotally connected by a hinge to the first member near the end opposite the "hook," and the second member normally being disposed parallel to the first member; (3) an "L"-shaped bracket which is adjustably secured to the second member; and (4) a guide rotatably connected to the second member below the hinge for abutting the first member. This device enables a single carpenter to install weather boards onto a building by placing the "hooked" first member over a board already nailed to a building. Then, the "L"-shaped bracket is adjusted to the correct board overlap dimension, and a similar device at the opposite end of the board is set at the corresponding board overlap dimension.
