  • Patent number: 8624169
Abstract: A heating appliance comprises a chamber portion defining a heating chamber, a lid portion, a heating apparatus to heat air in the heating chamber, a food temperature sensor to sense an internal temperature of an item located in the heating chamber, a user interface configured to receive designation of a desired time of completion of heating of the item from the user, and a control circuit configured to control the supply of power to the heating apparatus. The control circuit is in communication with the temperature sensor and the user interface. The control circuit may control the heating apparatus so that the internal temperature of the item reaches a predetermined temperature at the desired time of completion designated by the user. The control circuit may control the heating apparatus so that the internal temperature of the item is maintained at a predetermined temperature for a predetermined period of time before an end of the desired time of completion.

  • Patent number: 7339137
Abstract: A food heating appliance is disclosed that comprises a chamber portion and a lid portion that defines a heating chamber. The chamber portion has a perimeter wall extending about the heating chamber and an upper opening into the heating chamber. The perimeter wall is insulated to permit walls are A heating apparatus in the heating chamber comprises a heating element positioned in the heating chamber adjacent to the perimeter wall, and a shield positioned above the heating element to block debris from falling on the heating element. The shield may be sloped downwardly from the perimeter wall toward a center of the heating chamber. A holding tray for smoking material may be positioned adjacent to the heating element. A drip collection tray may be positioned at the bottom of the heating chamber that influences air flow into the heating chamber. Temperature control circuitry provides precise, predictive heating of the food.

  • Patent number: 4567856
Abstract: Apparatus for spraying livestock with liquid substances is disclosed. A liquid insecticide tank is mounted on a supporting base. A housing is provided mounted on top of the tank, with a housing covering a trough or container provided for holding feed or another substance to be ingested by an animal. A liquid propane tank is mounted to the housing and is connected to provide a regulated pressure to the liquid tank. A three-wave bulb valve is mounted to extend above and forward of the housing and is connected at one port to the liquid under pressure, at another port to a spray nozzle, and at a third port to an upwardly extending chamber providing a vertical air column. Position of the valve is controlled by a mechanical linkage operated by a hinged face flap which an animal must move out of the way in order to access the substance to be ingested.
