  • Publication number: 20100059305
Abstract: A tool carrier, such as a compact loader, has a main frame formed as a transmission housing that is all welded construction. The transmission housing has drives from motors and drive shafts on each side of the transmission housing. The drives are in enclosed chain cases forming integral parts of the transmission housing. The drive shafts span the power drive cases and are supported on bearings on both ends. The drives in each of the power drive cases drive front and rear axles of the compact loader. Axle tubes also are welded in place on the transmission housing. The rear portions of the transmission housing have support arm castings supported in and closing the ends of the power drive cases. The support arm castings provide support for mounting lift arms for the compact loader.

  • Patent number: 6539650
Abstract: A swivel connection for quick attachment bracket equipped excavator booms. The swivel connection has a frame that mounts onto a quick attachment bracket on an excavator or backhoe boom, and the frame pivotally mounts a second attachment bracket about a swivel axis. The second attachment bracket is adapted to fit into a frame on an implement that also is connectable to the bracket on the boom. An implement attached to the second bracket this can be pivoted relative to the frame of the swivel connection. A linear hydraulic actuator is used for controlling the pivoting movement of the second bracket relative to the frame.

  • Patent number: 6499934
Abstract: A mounting plate that is attachable to an attachment plate of a skid steer loader supports a quick attachment bracket on a forward side thereof. The quick attachment bracket has one part forming a nose, and a saddle spaced from the nose. The quick attachment bracket will move into a receptacle portion of a mounting frame on a tool to be driven by the skid steer loader and will receive another portion of the frame in the saddle. The frame and the quick attachment bracket can be held together with a latch arrangement and then the tool manipulated with the skid steer loader lift arms and attachment plate tilt cylinder. The tool is powered from the skid steer loader in a desired manner.

  • Patent number: 6425730
Abstract: An improved load bearing pivot assembly for connecting the boom arm of a power machine to the main frame, or the implement (e.g., adapter plate) or both. The load bearing pivot assembly provides a fluid path therethrough in order to eliminate fluid lines at the pivot point which are otherwise susceptible to failure due to repeated flexure and due to being exposed to an abusive environment. Both portions of the pivot assembly preferably include a coupler for connection to a fluid line. One of the fluid lines is connected to a source of pressurized hydraulic fluid and the other line is adapted for connection to an attachment requiring pressurized hydraulic fluid for operation. Such attachments include, but are not limited to, grapples, rotary brooms, augers, tree spades, jack hammers, etc. The fluid lines are preferably at least partially contained within the boom and/or the implement to protect the lines from exposure to the abusive environment.

  • Patent number: 6293479
Abstract: A hydraulic circuit for a wood chipper attachment for a skid steer loader provides power to both a motor for driving a chipper wheel and a motor for driving a feed roller. A priority flow valve is provided to supply priority of flow to the chipper motor. As pressure increases on the chipper motor, the output from the skid steer loader pump reduces and the priority flow valve acts to reduce flow to the feed motor to reduce the infeed speed. The wood chipper is adapted to be mounted on a skid steer loader and utilize the hydraulic power source from the loader power source. A separate relief valve for the chipper wheel motor is set to relieve pressure if the chipper wheel motor stalls at a lower pressure than the relief valve for the hydraulic system on the skid steer loader so that the feed motor will have sufficient pressure for reversing the feed wheel.

  • Patent number: 6154989
Abstract: A bracket and frame assembly permits attaching and removing a bucket or other tool to and from an arm of an excavator, backhoe, or the like. The bracket and frame assembly comprises two portions, a bracket and a detachable frame. The bracket mounts onto the arm of the implement. The bracket carries a latch member. The bracket can be moved onto a frame on a bucket or other tool, and is latched in place without dismounting from the backhoe, excavator or the like. The latch member can be released, either manually or under power, and then by manipulating the arm, the tool and frame can be removed from the bracket and a new tool mounted. The engaging portions of the frame and bracket are such that as wear occurs, the parts will compensate and remain secured without play or slop.

  • Patent number: 6116007
Abstract: A rotary mower is mounted onto a skid steer loader through a four bar linkage on each side of a mower housing. The linkage is arranged to pivot relative to a mounting bracket on the skid steer loader and relative to a mower housing, with differential lengths between upper and lower sets of links of the four bar linkage. The upper link on each side of the mower is slidably connected to the mower housing to permit the mower housing to pivot a limited amount about a traverse axis during normal operation. The links include stop members that engage when the mower is raised a selected amount to stop relative movement between the links and also to shut off power to the motor driving the mower. The forward end of the housing has depending chains mounted with a channel and providing a shield.

  • Patent number: 6116699
Abstract: An attachment for a power machine includes a first mounting plate and a housing mounted to the mounting plate. The housing has a front end and a rear end and generally oppositely disposed first and second sides. The first side of the housing is removable. A rotor is rotatably mounted to the second side of the housing and has a surface and first and second longitudinal ends. A portion of the surface and the first longitudinal end are exposed by removal of the first side of the housing. A motor is coupled to the rotor to rotatably drive the rotor.

  • Patent number: 6000154
Abstract: A quick attach accessory tool mounting frame is adapted to be mounted onto a quick attachment bracket and held in place. The adapter frame has plates mounting a hub to pivotally mount a powered auxiliary tool. The hanger is formed with spaced plates having upper edges that will abut against portions of the adapter frame to permit only limited pivotal movement of a tool supported by the hanger about a horizontal axis such that the operator can control the position of the auger after the hanger has pivoted against provided stops that limit the pivotal movement of the tool about one axis.
