  • Patent number: 11920351
Abstract: A vent is disclosed that is particularly suited to use in ventilating attic spaces beneath a hip roof. The vent is configured to be installed along a hip of the roof overlying and covering a ventilation slot formed through the roof deck along the hip. The vent includes an elongated laterally flexible top panel from which baffle arrays depend. The baffle arrays are formed of a plurality of depending arcuately curved vanes that arc away from the vent. The vanes are aerodynamically shaped to redirect wind-blown rain and snow away from the vent and are configured to block the migration of rain and snow through the vent. A pair of spongy conformable filler strips is attached beneath the edge portions of the vent. The filler strips conform to the shapes of underlying shingles when the vent is installed to fill any gaps that otherwise might be formed between the vent and the shingles.

  • Patent number: 9528226
Abstract: A rectangular channel is cut into a contoured concrete curb along a street to expose an end of ground drain pipe. Sealing fill material is applied to portions of cut surfaces of the rectangular channel. A curb drain modular insert that is placed into the rectangular channel has a molded body that is formed to have a rear surface, bottom surface and lateral surfaces that are generally planar. The lateral surfaces are generally parallel to each other. Each lateral surface, rear surface and bottom surface being generally perpendicular to each other for being placed into the rectangular channel cut into the contoured curb. The molded body has a contoured top surface that conforms to portions of the contoured curb that are adjacent to the rectangular channel. A horizontal bore is formed in the molded body from the rear surface through the top surface to conduct ground water.

  • Patent number: 8234303
Abstract: Systems and methods for conversion and importation of models that describe system behavior into a UML meta model-based representation, include parsing through the textual model for the plurality of elements, searching for an element semantic definition, element view definitions corresponding to a semantic definition, or an element view containing diagram definition within the textual model for each of the plurality of elements, generating element reference nodes for placement on an internally constructed custom tree, attaching a listener to each of the element reference nodes, wherein the listener is configured to await population of the element reference node with an equivalent unified modeling language semantic element, wherein a listener awaiting population is an awaiting sequenced listener, completing an inheritance hierarchy between the element reference nodes up to a parent node inferred from the diagramming definitions and resolving awaiting sequenced listeners that are made aware of an awaited unified

  • Patent number: 6213779
Abstract: The present invention provides a variety of laminated plastic activity boards that allow the individual to visualize and have interactive exploration of conic sections and their definitions. This allows for more class time to be spent investigating the concept of conic sections opposed to teachers lecturing and the students having to memorize them. The user is able to notice patterns which develop while drawing specific sets of conic sections by forming conjectures based on the observed outcomes of the activities. Each activity board has a reusable laminated surface which allows the ink used from a marker to be visible but not permanent. The surface can be wiped clean with a moist paper towel once the activity is completed. There are a total of four activity boards which operate independently of each other and contain different concepts. The four boards teach principles relating to the circle, ellipse, parabola and hyperbola.
