Patent number: 11938483Abstract: Provided herein are an optical test platform and corresponding method of manufacturing the same. The test platform may include a shell defining a cavity for receiving a sample tube, a first aperture, and a second aperture. The first aperture and the second aperture of the shell may each be configured to optically couple the cavity with an exterior of the shell. The test platform may further include a first window and a second window embedded in the shell. The first window may seal a first aperture and the second window may seal a second aperture. The first window and second window may each permit the optical coupling of the cavity with the exterior of the shell. The first window and the second window may be optically coupled via the cavity, and the shell may prohibit optical coupling between the first window and the second window through the shell.Type: GrantFiled: November 11, 2021Date of Patent: March 26, 2024Assignee: BIOMERIEUX, INC.Inventors: Jack R. Patent number: 11914232Abstract: An eye shield includes a frame having a plurality of receivers located along the frame and a plurality of latches located to cooperate with the receivers, and a lens having a plurality of spaced apart lens apertures extending through the lens and located so as to align with the receivers of the frame when the lens is positioned for installation onto the frame. The latches are engageable with the receivers by rotating the latches to pass an elongate catch of the latch into the receiver through the aligned lens aperture and an open front of the receiver to latchingly engage a tooth of the latch with a catch surface of the receiver in a snap-fit frictional relationship. The latches are also selectively disengageable from the receivers by applying force to a lower edge of the latch and flexing the lower edge of the latch rearward slightly to disengage the tooth from the catch surface.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2021Date of Patent: February 27, 2024Assignee: DeRoyal Industries, Inc.Inventors: Walter C.
