  • Publication number: 20170266292
Abstract: Lipidic compound (lipidic molecule)-telodendrimer hybrid nanoparticles. For example, the lipidic compound-telodendrimer hybrid nanoparticles are lipid/lipidoid-telodendrimer hybrid nanoparticles. The nanoparticles can comprise a plurality of lipidic molecules (e.g., lipid molecules, lipidoid molecules, or mixtures of different lipid molecules or different lipidoid molecules). The hybrid nanoparticles can comprise one or more lipid or lipidoid and one or more telodendrimer. The hybrid nanoparticles can also comprise cholesterol. In various examples, the hybrid nanoparticles also comprise a small molecule, peptide, protein, or a combination thereof. In various examples, lipid-telodendrimer hybrid nanoparticles comprising one or more small molecules or lipidoid-telodendrimer hybrid nanoparticles comprising one or more protein(s) and/or peptide(s) are used in methods of small-molecule or protein/peptide delivery.

  • Patent number: 8864120
Abstract: An apparatus comprises a housing, a core located in the housing, a coil unit associated with the core and located in the housing, and a backing plate made of a high-permeability material. The apparatus may be used for generating high clamping forces between materials that are interposed between the core and the backing plate such that manufacturing operations can be carried out. The core has a cross section with an elongate shape. The coil unit is configured to generate magnetic fields and has the elongate shape.

  • Publication number: 20070079536
Abstract: The present invention relates to affixing identification tags to a container. More specifically, the present invention relates to affixing a plastic identification tag to a plant container using ultrasonic welding and/or heat staking. A plastic stud may exist that extends from either the tag or the container through a hole or recess in the other of the tag or container. The stud is then deformed via ultrasonic welding or heat staking to secure the tag to the container. The tag may be affixed without the use of a stud via ultrasonic welding and/or heat staking.

  • Patent number: 5994320
Abstract: The invention provides compositions and methods for treating primary brain cancer. The compositions include at least one antisense oligonucleotide that inhibits the proliferation of primary brain cancer cells. The antisense oligonucleotides are preferably complementary to and hybridize to a mRNA encoding c-myb. A method of the invention involves treating patients with primary brain cancer with a pharmaceutical composition including at least one antisense oligonucleotide in an amount effective to inhibit primary brain cell proliferation. The invention also provides probes and primers useful to identify primary brain cells having amplified and/or rearranged genes encoding c-myb.
