  • Patent number: 8118288
Abstract: An engine mount system for a lawn mower having a front, rear, and two sides. The engine mount system includes a mounting plate, an engine, first and second elastic members, and first and second brackets. The engine is mounted to the mounting plate and applies a torque force to the mounting plate during lawn mower operation. The first bracket is provided on the mounting plate and includes a first surface. The first surface is adjacent the first elastic member and partially faces the front, thereby placing the first elastic member into compression when the engine applies the torque force to the mounting plate. The second bracket is provided on the mounting plate and includes a second surface. The second surface is adjacent the second elastic member and partially faces the rear, thereby placing the second elastic member into compression at the same time as the first elastic member.
