Abstract: The invention provides a closure chuck usable with a capping machine for mounting an insertion closure on a possibly misaligned flange around an opening in a container. In the preferred embodiment, the closure chuck has an upper chuck portion attachable to the capping machine, a lower chuck portion for holding the insertion closure, a connecting assembly connecting the lower chuck portion to the upper chuck portion in a spaced apart relationship, and resilient means. The connecting assembly transmits axially directed force from the upper chuck portion to the lower chuck portion, and allows rocking movement of the lower chuck portion relative to the upper chuck portion to properly align the insertion closure with the flange. The resilient means biases the lower chuck portion to a neutral position in which the lower chuck portion is aligned with the upper chuck portion.

Abstract: There is provided a new and useful removable lid, particularly adapted for commercial sized containers of the type which holds oils, grease, bulk food stuffs and the like. The lid comprises a central lid area which has parallel upper and lower surfaces. A continuous channel extends about the periphery of the lower surface. The channel has inner and outer walls for releasably receiving therebetween the upper lid of a container. A skirt downwardly depends about the periphery of the lid area. The skirt forms part of the outer wall of the channel. Means at the bottom of the channel act as a seal between the lid and the container when the lid is in position on the container.

Abstract: There is provided a new and useful bottle for containing and pouring liquids comprising a body section having bottom, front, back and first and second sides, and a neck section, the first side including a lower section, and an upper elongated sloped shoulder section narrowing progressively to intersect the neck section at a first line of intersection, the second side including a lower section, and an upper sloped shoulder section narrowing progressively to intersect the neck section along a second line of intersection at a higher level on the neck than the first line of intersection; and each of the front and back including a lower section and an upper sloped section joining the edges of the first and second sides and intersecting the neck section.
