  • Patent number: 4405387
Abstract: A notable two-way effect can be induced in components made of a memory alloy exhibiting only a one-way effect by applying an external force which gives rise to an internal stress opposing the one-way effect. Component made of a memory alloy in the form of a tension, compression bending, or torsion rod (helical spring 2). External force by weight or spring (counter-spring 3).

  • Patent number: 4279596
Abstract: A dental handpiece, which has a drive motor part with a drive shaft for rotation in a housing, and a grip section connected to the housing and having a head part with a socket for receiving and mounting a tool for rotation, and a drive train coupled to the drive shaft to transfer rotary motion from the motor to the socket, characterized by a sleeve surrounding the housing and being axially removeable from the housing and the grip section so that parts of the handpiece can be individually sterilized as necessary without subjecting the motor to sterilization.

  • Patent number: 4002320
Abstract: A frame comprises cross-members. Two longitudinal beams are associated with the frame. At least one of the beams is detachably associated with the cross-members. An arm extends transversely to the beams between the same and is pivotally connected to the frame by an articulated joint. A drive mechanism is provided to impart a pivotal movement to the arm about the articulated joint. Upwardly facing, low-friction bearings are carried by the arm between the beams and spaced from the articulated joint. The frame is adapted to be pushed under a rail and to assume a condition in which the beams extend along the rail on opposite sides thereof and rest on two spaced apart ties supporting the rail and the bearings engage the rail from underneath between the ties.
