  • Patent number: 10958059
Abstract: A clamp for suspending an aerial conductor wire from a transmission tower includes an inner sleeve formed by a pair of sleeve halves which are mated and fastened together to define a cylindrical open-ended conductor bore for compressing the conductor wire, the inner sleeve having outer enlarged ends each forming an opposing shoulder, and an outer sleeve formed by a pair of outer sleeve halves which mate together to define an inner bore which closely fits an outer diameter of the inner sleeve and having a length which fits between the opposing shoulders of the inner sleeve, to permit rotation of but restrict longitudinal movement of the inner sleeve within the outer sleeve, wherein each outer sleeve half each comprises an interlocking assembly which mates with an interlocking assembly on the other half and a mounting tab on an longitudinal edge opposite the interlocking assembly.

  • Publication number: 20200101332
Abstract: In order to provide passive fire protection for a member, casing portions that are physically discrete from each other and from the member are made by injection molding of fluid fire-resistant material (which may be intumescent), and allowing the material to cure. The inner surfaces of the casing portions are complementary in shape to a portion of the outer surface of the member. The casing portions collectively form a casing that surrounds the outer surface of the member, with their inner surfaces abutting against the outer surface of the member. The casing portions are secured to the member by a removable strap or collar, an adhesive, or both.

  • Publication number: 20140216808
Abstract: A clamp for suspending a conductor wire with a textured surface from a transmission tower includes a restraining sleeve, a housing, and a mounting tab. The restraining sleeve is made of upper and lower sleeve pieces that define a sleeve cavity to encase the conductor wire. The sleeve cavity has an internal gripping surface that intermeshes with the textured surface of the conductor wire to prevent slippage and rotation of the conductor wire relative to the sleeve cavity, without substantial compression of the conductor wire. The housing is made of a plurality of housing parts that define a housing cavity to encase restraining sleeve. The housing cavity is configured to permit rotation of the restraining sleeve, but restrict longitudinal movement of the retraining sleeve within the housing. The mounting tab is connected to the housing to permit direct or indirect connection of the clamp to a transmission tower.
