  • Patent number: 7212858
Abstract: A medical therapy system has logic and/or signal processing stages between sensors on the input side and therapy applicators on the output side. A signal parameter is determined from the input signals using the logic/processing stages, and/or an indicator signal is determined from the input signals using a logic/processing module consisting of several logic/processing stages. The indicator signal is a measure of the probability of a future event requiring therapy, or a measure of the success of the therapy.

  • Patent number: 7065404
Abstract: A rate-adaptive cardiac pacemaker has a detection unit 1, an event-determining unit 2, a stimulation control unit 3 and a stimulation unit 11, wherein the event-determining unit 2 is connected to the detection unit 1 and the stimulation control unit 3, and the stimulation unit 11 is connected to the stimulation control unit 3. The detection unit 1 detects ECG signals of a heart 100, and the event-determining unit 2, on the basis of the ECG signals detected by the detection unit 1 and signals emitted by the stimulation control unit 3, determines whether a detected event represents a spontaneous or a stimulated event (Ap, As; AES, Vp, Vs, VES).

  • Publication number: 20030083717
Abstract: The invention is based on the concept of providing a fuzzy inference machine having a fuzzy logic unit. The fuzzy logic unit converts an input value into a fuzzy scalar on the basis of scalar fuzzy operators. The converted fuzzy scalars are processed by means of fuzzy interconnection operators to give scalar output values.

  • Publication number: 20020068867
Abstract: The invention concerns a system for determining the intracorporal position of a working catheter (10) for carrying out desired working operations. The system has an intracorporal reference catheter (2) which is adapted to produce a coordinate system. The working catheter (10) has a plurality of working catheter reference units (4) which are adapted to send signals which are characteristic for the position of the working catheter (10), and the reference catheter (3) has a plurality of reference catheter reference units (14) which are adapted to receive the signals which are sent by the working catheter reference units (4). The system also has a processing unit (16) which is adapted to calculate the position and the intracorporal orientation of the working catheter (10) on the basis of signals received from the reference catheter reference units (14).
