    Abstract: A capsule filling machine (10) for filling a capsule, which has a capsule upper part and a capsule lower part, includes a conveying device (32), a filling station (82) and at least one station (86) for closing a filled capsule lower part with a capsule upper part and for transporting a filled capsule. The station comprises a closing element which can be moved along the joining axis and which is driven by a closing drive, and which cooperates with a lower face of the filled capsule lower part, and a counter holder which cooperates with an upper face of the capsule upper part. The counter holder can be arranged in a stop region which is spaced apart from a conveying region by the interposition of a transport region. A transport sleeve which fixes and transports the filled and fully joined capsule outside the conveying region is arranged in the transport region.

    Abstract: The specification discloses an automated apparatus and method for packaging surgical needles having sutures attached thereto wherein a bundle of needles and sutures are placed at a semi-automated separation station and an operator feeds the needles, one at a time, into a rotating needle feed wheel. As the feed wheel advances, the suture is tensioned and directed along a pre-determined path to separate it from the remaining sutures in the bundle. The apparatus has a plurality of individually rotatable tool nests which are sequentially spaced on a rotating or indexing turntable. These tool nests sequentially receive plastic packages for receiving the needle and suture at a first station. At a second station, a needle is inserted into the package by robotic fingers which have retrieved the needle and attached suture from the rotating needle feed wheel. The rotating needle feed wheel and the rotating tool nests are synchronized to step together as each advances.

    Abstract: A deflection generator develops scanning current in a deflection winding and produces a deflection rate alternating polarity voltage at a deflection generator terminal. A first winding of an input transformer is coupled to a source of supply frequency alternating polarity voltage and to a regulator switch for transferring energy from the source to a load circuit coupled to another winding of the input transformer. A second winding is coupled to the deflection generator terminal. The conduction time of the regulator switch controls the amount of energy transferred. A regulator control circuit turns on the regulator switch at a controlled instant within a first polarity interval of the deflection rate alternating polarity voltage to draw current in the first winding from the source. The deflection rate alternating polarity voltage applied to the second winding is reflected to the first winding and commutates off the regulator switch during the alternate polarity interval of each deflection cycle.

    Abstract: The trace switch of a horizontal deflection circuit is coupled to a secondary winding of a flyback transformer. The primary winding is coupled to a source of energy and a regulator switch. A control circuit varies the phase angle of the regulator switch in accordance with an energy level of the deflection circuit. A regulator commutating inductance in combination with a commutating and tuning capacitance controls the duration of conduction of the regulator switch. The capacitance independently tunes with a flyback transformer winding to transfer energy from the source in a resonant manner.

    Abstract: An input transformer primary winding is series coupled with an unregulated voltage source and a bidirectional switch. The secondary winding is coupled to a deflection circuit switch through a second switch. The transformer leakage inductance serves as the source input impedance. The transformer windings and second switch are so polarized as to provide for simultaneous conduction of the bidirectional and second switches. Regulation is achieved by varying the turn-on instant of the bidirectional switch within a deflection cycle. The bidirectional switch is commutated off by a resonant circuit coupled to the switch.

    Abstract: A feedback voltage regulator for a television deflection apparatus having a deflection switching arrangement driving a deflection winding and supplied with power from a source of potential through a first inductor includes a second inductor coupled in series with the first. The second inductor conducts a substantially direct current towards the source of potential. An SCR is coupled in parallel with the second inductor and its conduction is duration modulated in response to the regulated voltage. The duration modulation controls the time during which the direct current is withdrawn from the deflection switching arrangement and first inductor and thereby maintains the regulated voltage substantially constant.
