  • Publication number: 20240148556
Abstract: A stack of eye shields includes a plurality of eye shields each having a frame with receivers located along the frame and latches located to engage the receivers, and spaced apart elevated support surfaces along and rising above an upper portion of the frame; and a lens installed on the frame and having lens apertures extending through the lens and aligned with the receivers of the frame, with the latches engaged with the receivers securing the lens to the frame. The eye shields are stacked one on top of another with each of the eye shields oriented substantially parallel to one another with each of the elevated surfaces of an overlying one of the frames of the stack being slightly forward of a corresponding one of the elevated surfaces of the underlying frame of the stack, with each frame of each eye shield of the stack having a gap therebetween except at contact surfaces where the elevated support surfaces contact an adjacent lower surface of an overlying eye shield.

  • Publication number: 20240151992
Abstract: An eye shield includes a frame having a plurality of receivers located along the frame and a plurality of latches located to cooperate with the receivers, and a lens having a plurality of spaced apart lens apertures extending through the lens and located so as to align with the receivers of the frame when the lens is positioned for installation onto the frame. The latches are engageable with the receivers by rotating the latches to pass an elongate catch of the latch into the receiver through the aligned lens aperture and an open front of the receiver to latchingly engage a tooth of the latch with a catch surface of the receiver in a snap-fit frictional relationship. The latches are also selectively disengageable from the receivers by applying force to a lower edge of the latch and flexing the lower edge of the latch rearward slightly to disengage the tooth from the catch surface.

  • Publication number: 20230251503
Abstract: An eyewear frame of improved comfort, including a one-piece non-folding eyewear frame to which a shield is attachable to provide eyewear, the frame being made of plastic having a flexural modulus of from about 250,000 psi to about 310,000 psi (ASTM D790A), with the frame having a brow piece and a pair of symmetric left and right ear pieces extending away from the brow piece at opposite ends of the brow piece, each ear piece terminating at a free end, with the free ends of the brow pieces being spaced apart from one another to define a gap, with the frame having a maximum width such that the ratio of the maximum width to the gap is above 3.

  • Publication number: 20230091444
Abstract: A container having a stack of eye shields, includes a stack of eye shields having a plurality of eye shields stacked one on top of another. The stack of eye shields is in a sloped configuration in which ear pieces of frames of the eye shields are generally aligned with one another and disposed at an angle relative to horizontal of from about 10 to about 35 degrees. A container is provided having a horizontal bottom onto which the stack of eye shields is supported, the container having a top opposite the bottom, the top being sloped to be substantially parallel to the ear pieces of the eye shields of the stack of eye shields.

  • Patent number: 11572221
Abstract: A lid of molded plastic construction, includes a lid body and a cap attached to the lid body by a tether. The tether is substantially continuous with an adjacent peripheral edge of the lid body, with a tear zone between the tether and the adjacent peripheral edge of the lid body formed during molding of the lid. The tear zone is disruptable by application of a tearing pressure to free the tether from the peripheral edge.
