  • Patent number: 7032737
Abstract: A conveying apparatus for transporting open containers is provided with at least two conveying elements located opposite to each other that are adapted frictionally or positively engage the containers. Each conveying element comprises a plurality of gripping elements by means of guiding rails. The gripping elements each comprise at least two lip members located distantly to each other as seen in conveying direction and elastically resilient at least in a direction crosswise to the conveying direction, in order to grasp the containers laterally. The gripping elements are adapted to grasp and guide the containers, such that additional guiding elements can be avoided.

  • Patent number: 5785169
Abstract: The invention provides a conveyor assembly for the conveying of containers which are open at one end thereof, particularly for the conveying of bottles made of plastic material. The conveyor assembly comprises a main conveyor which is adapted to continuously convey a row of containers located within the conveyor assembly in a certain distance from each. The conveyor assembly comprises a first handing over set-up assembly located at the input side of the conveyor and a second handing over et-up assembly located at the output side of the conveyor.

  • Patent number: 5363866
Abstract: The invention provides a method of cleaning containers, particularly bottles, in which the bottles to be cleaned are continuously moved in uniform spatial orientation past a row of jet nozzles ejecting a cleaning agent. Each time a bottle passes a particular jet nozzle, that jet nozzle is aligned with the bottle mouth during a certain portion of the path of motion of the bottle. This follower motion is positively effected by means of a catch member provided at the jet nozzle. The advantage of the method according to the invention lies in the fact that each jet nozzle is aligned with the bottle mouth during a relatively long period of time and, thus, is able to clean the bottle more effectively. The jet nozzle can be mounted at the end of a swiveling lever arm member being under the influence of a spring member forcing the lever member back to an initial position. A cleaning apparatus can provide a row of such jet nozzles which are swiveling independently from each other.

  • Patent number: 4926971
Abstract: The drag chain conveyor has carriers (5) which cooperate with the conveyed articles and are joined to an endless conveyor chain, and which slide on guide rails (4). For the lubrication of this chain guide, each guide rail (4) has at least one lubrication point. At this point is provided a channel (8) which extends in the guide rail transversely to the guide track and which is connected to a lubricant supply pipe (9). A plurality of bores (10) starting from this channel (8) carry the lubricant to the surface of the rail in the sliding region. This lubrication arrangement permits higher conveying speeds and ensures a longer life of the conveyor chains.

  • Patent number: 4798281
Abstract: A carrier, consisting of a holder and a gripper, is provided for use on a drag chain conveyor used particularly for the conveyance of loose articles such as bottles. The chain conveyor comprises a pair of conveyor chains in spaced substantially parallel relationship, both of the chains moving in the same direction along a conveyance channel. Carriers of the invention are carried by links in each of the chains with the grippers thereof disposed inwardly into the space between the two conveyor chains. Loose articles in the space are engaged by the grippers and moved thereby. The holder comprises a plate and a bow and is connected to a link of the conveyor chain. The holder is supported on slide rails. The gripper is a hollow, tube-shaped member made of resilient material and has a flat surface which lies against the plate. The gripper is fastened to the plate by bolts anchored in the plate and which pass through the flat surface of the gripper. Spring nuts fasten to the bolts.
