  • Patent number: 5728013
Abstract: A golf practice tee device which includes a central rigid tubular body, a lower rigid spike portion, and a lengthwise adjustable upper flexible tubular golf ball support, and a detachably connected rod to install and remove the tee device from the ground. A brake is provided to restrict free movement between the body and the support and a stop may be included to restrict dissassociation therebetween. A simplified tee device has the support threaded onto the rod for vertical height adjustment.

  • Patent number: 5346222
Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing one golf ball at a time onto a tee, the apparatus comprising a tubular magazine through which golf balls roll by gravity from an entrance to an exit, a pivotable tubular arm hingedly attached at the exit of the magazine and extending to a dispensing mouth, the arm being biased to hold its mouth at an elevation higher than the magazine exit until manually pivoted downwardly to a dispensing position where the mouth is at a lower elevation than the magazine exit, an adjustable stop screw to prevent balls from rolling out of the exit until the arm is pivoted, means to move one golf ball at a time from contact with the stop screw and allow the ball to roll through the pivotable arm to be dispensed through the mouth onto a tee.

  • Patent number: 5335953
Abstract: An apparatus for picking up one golf ball and placing it on a tee includes two telescoping tubular members, and spring biased fingers at the lower end to grip a golf ball. The inner tubular member is movable outwardly to push the golf ball out of the grip of the fingers, and a spring biased inner tubular member is in retracted position further inside the outer tubular member until ready to dispense the golf ball from the grip of the fingers. A pair of removable legs engage the outer tubular member to allow the apparatus to stand generally upright. Another embodiment employs a resilient cup member in lieu of the spring biased fingers at the lower end, such cup member frictionally gripping a golf ball and releasing same by a selective dispensing force exerted on the golf ball by the inner tubular member.

  • Patent number: 4294224
Abstract: A fireplace screen and shield assembly is disclosed including a frame designed to lean against the fireplace wall and including one or more integral supports for mounting and supporting from above both a screen and a flexible, cloth-like noninflammable curtain between the fire and the room. The fireproof curtain is adjustable to various heights above the fireplace floor to control the flow of air to the fire including sealing off the fireplace opening to shut off the air to the fire and to prevent loss of room heat up the chimney. The screen is openable and closable in a vertical direction to respectively permit access to the fireplace for loading fuel therein and to prevent sparks from being projected into the room during burning. The fireplace screen and shield assembly provides the two-fold function of safe and efficient fireplace operation and energy conservation.
