Abstract: A hermetic connector comprising a housing adapted to attach to and extend through a wall of a sealed chamber and having an inner wall extending therethrough defining a passageway, and a removable connector body having an exterior surface matingly engaging the inner wall, ends thereof adapted to be connected to electrical equipment and joined together by wires, and O-rings mounted on the surface to form a hermetic seal between the inner wall and the exterior surface of the passageway. The O-rings are positioned on the exterior surface a distance from the ends of the connector body so that a first connector body may be displaced through the passageway and replaced therein by a second connector body such that the O-rings of at least one of the two bodies contacts the inner wall and forms a seal therewith at all times thereby maintaining a hermetic seal throughout the replacement process.
