  • Patent number: 5606762
Abstract: A roller brush and method of making same for sweeping machines for cleaning streets and roads. The brush includes cassettes arranged in brackets around the periphery of a roller and extending in the longitudinal direction of the roller. The cassettes receive spring members, such as radially projecting bristles, the ends of which are brought in contact with ground when the brush is used for cleaning. The cassettes are received in grooves in the brackets. The spring members are bent double around a locking wire which acts to hold the members in the cassettes and which passes through holes in connecting cross walls extending from facing long sides of the cassettes. The connecting cross walls are provided at spaced locations along the cassette thereby defining cells on the cassette. The spaced connecting cross walls act to increase the rigidity of the cassette.

  • Patent number: 5490301
Abstract: A roller brush for sweeping machines includes an axle (1) which carries distance members (2, 3) which in turn carry profile bars (4) which are arranged along a circumference of the roller brush. The profile bars (4) in turn carry bristle bars (6) provided with bristle members (6.1) which are arranged to protrude mainly radially from the roller brush. One or more cover bars (5) are arranged between adjacent profile bars (4) along the circumference. The cover bars (5) are preferably developed with equal width along the circumference of the roller brush whereby the profile bars (4) are spaced at equal relative distance along the circumference.

  • Patent number: 5383245
Abstract: A device at cassettes (3) for spring members (4) for a machine proposed i.e. for removing of rubber rests and ice from runways for aircrafts, at which the cassettes (3) are arranged around the periphery on a rotatable roller (1) and extending mainly in the longitudinal direction of the roller (1) and including units (11) of spring members (4), such as radially projecting bristles, the ends of which are brought into contact with the ground, e.g. a runway, at the rotation of the roller (1). Each cassette (3) includes a longish bar (9), which is arranged in facing grooves (8) in brackets (2) extending along the length of the roller (1) and showing passages (8.1) for e.g. removed material, other dusts and water arranged between each groove (8) and the bar (9) extending in the grooves (8).

  • Patent number: 4538319
Abstract: A roller brush comprises a central tube and a plurality of uniformly distributed axial light-metal sections removably clamped against each other and against the tube by means of wedges. Axial bristle bars with bristle bundles are arranged between the outer end portions of the sections. The bristle bars have a substantially rectangular cross section and have their side edges displaceably mounted in retaining bars made from plastics, which in turn are accommodated in grooves made in the sides of the light-metal sections.

  • Patent number: 4485514
Abstract: A brush ring for a roller brush in a cleansing machine includes a ring with U-shaped cross section and having openings with upstanding walls into which the bent-over ends of the hairpin-like bristle bundles are thrust. The bent-over bristles are free inwards of the inside of the ring, and a locking wire is taken through these ends to form a locking wire ring on the inside of the annular bar for reliably retaining the bristle bundles in the openings when the ring is rotated during operation.

  • Patent number: 4302863
Abstract: Brush bridges with bristle bunches are used in a rotating brush roller in sweeping machines. The bridges can be inserted in axial guides on the brush roller. Each brush bridge comprises two U-shaped sections welded together to form a box section. Openings are made in these sections, and the bristle bunches are inserted and retained in said openings.
