  • Patent number: 8381502
Abstract: A cut sight gauge for corn field production equipment used for detasseling operations where the cut sight gauge allows the operator to visually monitor the height of cutters and tassel pullers on corn crop cutting machines. The cut sight gauge ensures a uniform operating height of cut consistent with the optimum growing demands of the plants. The added safety advantage to the operator and the area supervisors who manage field operations are also a benefit for the field-specific set up applications as described herein.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 6, 2011
Date of Patent: February 26, 2013
    Inventor: Walter Dunn
  • Publication number: 20120304610
Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of corn field production equipment used for detasseling operations. More specifically, the present invention is a cut sight gauge for providing an integrated means of monitoring the height of cutters and tassel pullers on corn crop cutting machines. The cut sight gauge ensures a uniform operating height of cut consistent with the optimum growing demands of the plants. The added safety advantage to the operator and the area supervisors who manage field operations are also a benefit for the field-specific set up applications as described herein.

  • Patent number: 7407744
Abstract: A global functional analysis of HCMV genes is performed by constructing virus gene-deletion mutants and examining their growth phenotypes in different natural HCMV host cells. This systematic analysis of the HCMV genome identified 45 viral ORFs essential for viral replication and characterizes of 115 growth-dispensable viral genes. Of particular interest is the finding that HCMV encodes genes (temperance factors) that repress its own replication on a cell type-specific basis. In addition to HCMV, pathogen temperance may be a strategy employed by other infectious agents to enhance their long-term survivability within their respective host population.

  • Publication number: 20070005439
Abstract: A customer-operated ordering system and method that automatically sets the price of an item offered to a customer to purchase based on a stored profile of that customer. The system may include an input device, output device, customer profile storage media, sales price storage media, price rules storage media and a processing system.
