Patent number: 10214702Abstract: A biogas blending and energy content verification system and method for controlled enhancement of a biogas feedstock stream energy content profile by selective sampling and analysis of the biogas feedstock stream and controlled injection of a refined gas of a known, higher energy content into the biogas feedstock stream to produce a blended biogas having an augmented energy content profile meeting or exceeding a pre-established minimum to meet end user requirements.Type: GrantFiled: November 20, 2017Date of Patent: February 26, 2019Assignee: Mustang Sampling LLCInventors: Walter F. Gerhold, Austin Hill

Publication number: 20180292251Abstract: An anti-fouling, radiation emitter isolation assembly includes an adapter element mounted to a fixed port at the top of a leachate tank. A radiation emitter/detector is further mounted to the adapter element for transmitting radiation through the fixed port to determine a fluid level. The adapter element incorporates an isolation valve that when opened provides an unobstructed window through the fixed port for the transmitted radiation and when closed isolates said radiation emitter/detector from the fixed port. In particular, selectively isolating the radiation emitter/detector from the interior of the tank permits removal of the radiation emitter/detector from the adapter element without requiring a shutdown of leachate tank system operations.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 23, 2018Publication date: October 11, 2018Applicant: Mustang Sampling LLCInventors: Walter F. Gerhold, Austin Hill

Patent number: 9625431Abstract: A liquid gas vaporization and measurement system, and associated method, for efficiently vaporizing a continuous sample of liquid gas, such as liquid natural gas (LNG), and accurately determining the constituent components of the gas. A constant flow of liquid gas sampled from a mass storage device is maintained in a vaporizing device. Within the vaporizing device the liquid gas is flash vaporized within heated narrow tubing. The liquid gas is converted to vapor very quickly as it enters one or more independently operating vaporizer stages within the vaporizing device. The vapor gas is provided to a measuring instrument such as a chromatograph and the individual constituent components and the BTU value of the gas are determined to an accuracy of within +/?0.5 mole percent and 1 BTU, respectively.Type: GrantFiled: April 25, 2014Date of Patent: April 18, 2017Assignee: Mustang Sampling, LLCInventors: Kenneth O. Thompson, Walter F. Gerhold
