  • Publication number: 20120134842
Abstract: A wind wheel having a vertical axis of rotation (7) is described, comprising a rotor (1) with a vertical shaft (2) and at least one support arm (4) which extends diametrically to the shaft (2) and is provided with blades (5) on both sides of the shaft (2) and is rotatably supported about the longitudinal axis thereof relative to the shaft (2), with the blades (5) on both sides of the shaft (2) being arranged at an angular offset from each other about the longitudinal axis of the support arm (4) and having a centroid of their areas of wind attack which lies at a radial distance from the longitudinal axis of the support arm (4). In order to achieve advantageous blade adjustments it is proposed that the blades (5) are mounted on the support arm (4) thereof so as to be rotatable about an axis (9) perpendicular to the radial distance of the centroid and to the longitudinal axis of the support arm (4).

  • Patent number: 6851134
Abstract: A berth arrangement, especially for means of transport, is described, comprising a plurality of single berths (1) which are arranged in rows in a successive, superimposed and mutually offset fashion and receive at least one reclining seat (6), and which berths form a sitting room (2) and a foot room (3) starting out from the sitting room (2), with the height of the foot room being smaller than the sitting room height. In order to provide advantageous constructional conditions it is provided that the respective ceilings (5) and floors (4) of the sitting rooms (2) correspond to the negative shapes of the floors (10) and ceilings (9) of the foot space (3).

  • Patent number: 6227152
Abstract: There is described an internal combustion engine comprising at least one cylinder and a crankcase (5), which together with the cylinder forms a common, circular cylindrical tubular body (1), and comprising an oscillating piston (7) rotatably mounted about the cylinder axis and separating a cylinder space (4) defined by radial walls (3) from the crankcase (5), which oscillating piston is in drive connection with a crankshaft (16) parallel to the cylinder axis via a connecting link guide (17) for at least one crank pin (18) of the crankshaft (16), which is provided on the crankcase side of the oscillating piston (7). To create advantageous constructional conditions, it is proposed that the crank pin (18) is supported on the connecting link guide (17) via a roller (19), and that the tubular body (1) forming the cylinder and the crankcase (5) is thermally insulated to the outside.

  • Patent number: 5566514
Abstract: A generally pyramidal structure is formed by a plurality of sloping sides with adjacent sides abutting along a ridge joint which intersects a common vertex. The pyramid is truncated, thereby creating an opening transverse to one ridge joint and extending through the two adjacent sloping sides. The opening typically is closed by a vertical structural element. This pyramidal building design can be applied to structures of different sizes from small collapsible shelters, as substitutes for tents, to permanent buildings having multiple stories and/or adjoined units. The basic embodiment of this design has four oblique quadrilateral panels which form triangular openings along opposite ridges.

  • Patent number: 4351135
Abstract: An arrangement of tensile elements and rollers provides support for an extensible part against forces occurring in two directions perpendicular to the extension direction in which the extensible part is carried by a carrying part of conforming geometry. Two wire ropes form the tensile elements. First ends of each rope are attached to the top corners of one end of the carrying part and second ends of each rope are attached to the opposite bottom corners of the other end of the carrying part. The ropes extend in the extension direction from their carrying part attachments to the extensible part. At the extensible part, the ropes are passed over pulleys in two directions substantially transverse of the extension direction.

  • Patent number: 4103462
Abstract: A mobile home is comprised of two telescopingly interconnected box-like parts, the main home part running on wheels while the extension part may be glidably moved between a transport position and an extended position. A pair of superposed pulleys is mounted on each side wall of the extension part at the inner end thereof and the lower pulleys cooperate with guide rails in the main part so that they may run as rollers along the rails for glidably moving the extension part with respect to the main part. A cable is trained over each pair of pulleys in zigzag arrangement and the end portions of the cables are anchored respectively at the open end and the opposite end wall of the main part, the cables being tensioned between the anchors in the zigzag arrangement. A force-transmitting connection is provided between the end portions anchored at the end wall and, if desired, both end portions of the cables may be interconnected to form an integral cable.
