  • Patent number: 5372491
Abstract: In a device for manufacturing composite plastic mouldings, at least two different reaction mixtures are injected simultaneously through different sprues (24,26) into the cavity (28,28',28") of a mould (20,22). During the injection time of at least one of the reaction mixture, the cavity is subdivided into two or more mutually isolated regions. Following the injection of one reaction mixture, the separation between the regions of the cavity is removed and the at least partially liquid reaction mixtures converge in the separation plane. This device makes possible to join at least two materials having different properties in a single operation. It is useful for manufacturing bumper bars, spoilers, coach-work, and internal linings of motor vehicles.

  • Patent number: 4919396
Abstract: An apparatus for smelting meltable substances, particularly ore concentrates. A transfer element joins the cyclone discharge to the furnace and is arranged between the melting cyclone and the furnace. In this way, the fitting, particularly the re-fitting of an open-hearth furnace with a melting cyclone can be significantly simplified; or, on the other hand, the melting cyclone can be very easily dismantled for the purpose of repair or can be replaced by another melting cyclone in a relatively short time, namely without a significant interruption of furnace operations.

  • Patent number: 4227873
Abstract: A novel kiln with overlying beds arranged about a central hollow shaft carrying rabble arms attached thereto and with alternate apertures formed in the floors between adjacent stories adjacent the hollow shaft and adjacent the periphery of the floor and with treatment gases being supplied through such orifices in a direction opposite to the direction in which the material moves through a furnace and further providing hot gas feed conduits located in the walls of the furnace in one or more stories and directed in a generally tangential direction relative to the story floors.

  • Patent number: 4073645
Abstract: A process of smelting a sulphidic copper ore concentrate comprising introducing and partially roasting the sulphidic copper ore concentrate in a whirling layer roasting furnace, separating hot roasting gases from the roasting furnace, mixing enrichment oxygen with the roasting gases, joining and mixing into a smelting flame combustible gaseous fuel and the oxygen enriched separated hot roasting gases, directing the smelting flame from one side of a reverberatory furnace over the top of a copper matte, continuously passing the partially roasted concentrate from the roasting furnace through the heating zone in the reverberatory furnace and there smelting the partially roasted ore and heating the copper matte by the heat from the flame, generating in the heating zone by virtue of the flame an oxidizing atmosphere of such high temperature and oxygen content that sulphur from the molten sulphidic copper is converted into an exhaust gas of high SO.sub.
