  • Publication number: 20080269913
Abstract: The invention concerns an artificial leg with an artificial knee and an artificial foot. The artificial leg according to the invention comprises the following features: the artificial knee has a joint body turnable about its turning axis for carrying a femoral stump; with a shaft, the upper end of which engages the joint body, and the lower end of which supports the artificial foot; the artificial foot is connected to the shaft in a telescopically expandable manner; there is provided a conrod drive, comprising a connecting rod, the lower end of which is lead by the shaft in a slideable manner, and engages the artificial foot; the upper end of the connecting rod is articulated to a lever arm, which is in driving connection with the joint body, so that during the bending of the artificial knee the distance between its turning axis and the tip of the artificial foot is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20080269912
Abstract: The invention concerns an artificial leg with an artificial knee having, for carrying a femoral stump, a joint body which is rotatable about the joint axis; with a shaft, the upper end of which engages the joint body, and the lower end of which bears an artificial foot; joint body and shaft cooperate in such a way that a rotational movement of the joint body is transferred into a translative movement of the shaft, and that during the bending of the knee joint the distance between its joint axis and the tip of the artificial foot is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20040065678
Abstract: A spray can for introducing or applying of substances into or onto the body is provided. The spray can includes an elastic container of filler substance serving as an energy storage and a valve unit. The value unit has a connection part for inserting into the neck of the container so that contact surfaces of the neck and of the connection part are applied against each other. At least one of the two elements has a projection in the region of the contact surfaces, which engages with corresponding projections of the other of the two elements or engages with complementary recesses of the other of the two elements. The neck of the container and the connection part are joined together as a kind of snap closure. At least one of the pairs of contact surfaces broadens along the lengthwise axis in one or the other direction, where the broadening runs conically.

  • Patent number: 6247718
Abstract: A wheelchair has a lifting device for raising and lowering the seat or frame of the wheelchair to permit a handicapped person to reach items above or below his reach. The lifting device includes four telescopic transmission elements that are driven in unison by a motor to raise or lower the seat or frame. When in a retracted position, the lifting device fits within the frame and below the seat of the wheelchair.

  • Patent number: 6158809
Abstract: A seat mechanism for mounting in a shower or bathtub has a telescoping lift column that raises and lowers the seat. The column has mutually interacting elements that have two end elements and at least one middle element between them. The at least one middle element and at least a first of the end elements have external threads. The at least one middle element and a second of the end elements have internal threads. A drive is arranged to rotate one of the two end elements.

  • Patent number: 5978984
Abstract: An apparatus for use in a bathtub as an entry and exit aid includes a seat which can be raised and lowered by a drive, a backrest, and an actuator which is placed between the drive and the seat. The actuator includes a support which engages the seat and which extends downwardly to prop itself on a support area, i.e., a floor plate of the device, thereby lifting the seat as the support extends downwardly. The backrest can be tilted backward when the seat is in or near its lowest position.

  • Patent number: 5708992
Abstract: Disclosed is a device for placement in a bathtub or the like as an entering and exiting aid. A seat with a backrest and base includes a seat panel that can be raised and lowered. A drive is used for raising and lowering the seat panel with an actuator arranged between drive and seat panel. The actuator includes a stay that attaches to the seat panel and allows downward extension so as to bear on a bearing surface, for example a base of the device, thus effecting a raising of the seat panel that matches its extension.
