  • Patent number: 6416110
Abstract: A process for controlling movement of a roof of a vehicle, which is to be opened in a power-operated manner, by means of an operating device. The process for controlling movement of the roof of a vehicle to be opened, which requires only a simplified controlling device, the operating device direction of the roof is selected as a function of the position of the roof.

  • Patent number: 6382708
Abstract: Arrangement for controlling the movement of a rearward-side air guiding system on motor vehicles, the rearward-side air guiding system having a rear spoiler provided on a rearward-side hood and a rear wing connected therewith, and the rear wing being movable by means of the arrangement from a retracted inoperative position into an extended operative position and vice versa. The arrangement for controlling the movement of the rear wing includes at least two telescopic tilt-out devices and one connection respectively between a driving device and the telescopic tilt-out device. The driving device contains a motor and at least one hydraulic cylinder, so that, when the motor (17) is triggered, a pressure is built up in the at least one hydraulic cylinder (18,18′) which can be transmitted to the telescopic tilt-out devices (16,16′) and has the effect that the rear wing (12) is moved against a spring force into its operative position.

  • Patent number: 6170904
Abstract: A motor vehicle is provided with a rear-mounted air guide device having a rear spoiler provided on a hood at the rear and a connected rear airfoil. The rear airfoil is used only when needed to produce the necessary downforce so that no damage occurs to the air guide device when passing through an automatic car wash. For that purpose, the rear airfoil is movable by a drive device from a retracted resting position into an extended operating position and vice versa. The rear airfoil in the resting position is largely lowered into a groove-shaped receptacle provided on the top of the rear spoiler.

  • Patent number: 6007093
Abstract: An apparatus and a method for deactivating an airbag in a motor vehicle with at least one vehicle seat, to which a child seat placed on the seat can be fastened. A device is provided for deactivating an airbag located in front when the child seat is mounted. In order to allow such a device to be retrofitted simply and economically even in existing mass-produced vehicles, the device is formed by a tongue additionally mounted on the child seat and a latch connected in an active relationship with a central triggering unit. The airbag is deactivated by inserting the tongue into the latch and is reactivated by releasing the connection. For this purpose, the latch has an integrated sensor connected by a lead to the central triggering unit. In order to increase the certainty that the airbag will be shut off when the child seat is mounted, the sensor is made redundant.

  • Patent number: 4626025
Abstract: A vehicle includes a sun-roof having a roof aperture closable by a hatch, wherein the hatch is movable by means of a power operated device between a canted position and a closed position and, in the closed position, is selectively lockable or unlockable. In the unlocked position of the device, the hatch can be removed. In order to enhance comfort in operating the device and in order to securely hold the hatch in position in all operating conditions, an electric motor cooperating with transmitting elements is provided for operating the device, this motor being actuatable by means of a manually operable switch and, in dependence on the ignition lock position, by position switches, a hatch sensor switch, and by the vehicle speed.
