Patent number: 9041712Abstract: A method, apparatus, article of manufacture, and computer program product display multiple slices of a three-dimensional body in a computer drawing application. A first view of a 3D body is displayed. One or more slice sketches are defined on the first view. A single slice view of the three dimensional body is displayed. The single slice view simultaneously depicts all of the slices with a zero-depth representation of each slice.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 2014Date of Patent: May 26, 2015Assignee: Autodesk, Inc.Inventors: Michael A. Bogues, Tyler J. Henderson, Hans Walter Herzog, Yun Chen, Shivakumar Sundaram

Patent number: 8319792Abstract: One embodiment of the invention is a method for composing a computer-aided design (CAD) drawing that includes modeled components and non-modeled components. The method includes receiving a selection of properties for a non-modeled component to include in the CAD drawing, where the non-modeled component defines an element of an object modeled in the CAD drawing that is not included in a display representation of the object including an instance of the non-modeled component in the CAD drawing. Although not shown in display representations, the non-modeled elements may be displayed in a browse view showing the elements included in a CAD drawing, and in a bill of materials generated from the CAD drawing.Type: GrantFiled: December 7, 2006Date of Patent: November 27, 2012Assignee: Autodesk, Inc.Inventors: Matthew James Bussey, Hans Walter Herzog

Patent number: 4771748Abstract: A spark-ignition, air-compressing, internal combustion engine having a combustion chamber in the shape of a body of revolution with a constricted opening in the piston crown. The injection nozzle is located in the cylinder head near the edge of the combustion chamber and the spark plug, opposite the injection nozzle, extends into the combustion chamber at the top dead center position of the piston. Mixture formation is predominantly by deposition of the fuel on the combustion chamber wall. In such an internal combustion engine, it is desired in applying the concept to a supercharged engine to satisfy the enhanced requirements with respect to mixture formation reliably in all ranges of operation, whereby a further improvement of ignition stability is also to be provided. This is essentially achieved by the special shape and proportioning of the combustion chamber, and in particular by the use of two arcs to form the side wall thereof, and a third arc, which joins the side wall, to form the bottom.Type: GrantFiled: September 25, 1987Date of Patent: September 20, 1988Assignee: MAN Nutzfahrzeuge GmbHInventors: Franz Chmela, Walter Herzog, Richard Meier

Patent number: 4492194Abstract: A spark-ignition, air-compressing internal combustion engine has a combustion chamber in a piston movable toward a cylinder head of the engine. Fuel is injected onto the wall of the combustion chamber and air rotated in the chamber to remove the fuel from the combustion chamber wall gradually as a vapor. The cross-section of the combustion chamber wall is defined by two curved lines of specific radial relation generally indicated by the curved line extending from the opening into the combustion chamber having the smaller radius of curvature.Type: GrantFiled: December 12, 1983Date of Patent: January 8, 1985Assignee: M.A.N. Patent number: 4242668Abstract: A shopping cart theft prevention system which includes signal sending means and a receiver carried by the cart for receiving a cart-immobilizing or cart-mobilizing signal from the transmitter. The cart includes a frame and a sub-frame pivoted to the frame and bearing spaced cart-supporting wheels, the sub-frame being connected to the frame by a latch. The latch is opened whenever a signal is received from the transmitter by a receiver attached to the cart. Alternatively, a signal can be sent to keep the latch closed, and upon removal of the signal, the latch can be opened. The cart may carry a battery operated solenoid triggered by the radio signal. The plunger of the solenoid may comprise or activate a crossbar on the latch. Thus, when the solenoid is operated, the crossbar is moved so that the latch is open or closed, allowing the sub-frame and associated wheels to automatically swing out of operative position when open, thereby immobilizing the cart.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 1979Date of Patent: December 30, 1980Inventor: Walter Herzog
