The method is used to establish a user-specific value of a system parameter of the system. The method determines a user profile of a user. The user profile includes user-specific values of one or more user parameters which describe one or more properties of the user of the system. The method prepares a mapping function which maps different values of the one or more user parameters of the user profile onto different values of the system parameters. The method determines the user-specific value of the system parameter for the user, on the basis of the user profile of the user and on the basis of the mapping function.
