  • Patent number: 10458162
Abstract: The present invention comprises a latch for holding, locking, and/or securing an articulated entryway. The latch is generally comprised of a hook, a front and rear fastener, and an exterior and interior pressure plate. The hook attaches to the articulated arm on the door, and, by manipulating the position of the fasteners, the exterior pressure plate is tightened against the door plate. Once the latch is in its intended position, the articulated arm is locked in a fixed position, preventing the door from being opened.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 28, 2017
Date of Patent: October 29, 2019
    Inventor: Walter Holland Braxton, Jr.

  • Publication number: 20170314858
Abstract: Embodiments provide a conveyor for conveying loads of lumber through a lumber kiln or other structure without the use of lumber carts or pushers. The conveyor may include a plurality of rollers arranged to form a flow path through the lumber kiln. Groups of the rollers may be driven by separate drives that are configured to rotate the rollers in opposite rotary directions and/or at variable speeds. Some or all of the drives may be operable independently of the other drives to transport loads of lumber at different speeds/directions in adjacent areas of the lumber kiln. In the event of a fire or a shut-down, the rollers in the proximal half of the kiln and those in the distal half of the kiln can be rotated in opposite directions to evacuate loads quickly from both ends.
    Type: Application

  • Publication number: 20090167104
Abstract: The stackable brushless DC motor comprises one or more stackable motor sections disposed within a housing for use in cars or other vehicles. Each stackable motor section comprises a permanent magnetic rotor and electromagnetic stator. The permanent magnetic rotor comprises a plurality of permanent magnets. The electromagnetic stator comprises a plurality of conductive windings. The one or more stackable motor sections are characterized by a significantly thin and flat geometry. The housing comprises mounting flanges that support mounting in a car or other vehicle. The flat sides of the one or more stackable motor sections have no protuberances or features that would preclude adjacent stacking of said motors. The one or more stackable motor sections include openings through which a common shaft is disposed.
