Abstract: A card handling device is configured to arrange one or more cards into sets or hands. The card handling device may have a card receiving area, a card infeed mechanism for delivering cards from the receiving area to a receiver for forming the card sets or hands, and an ejector for ejecting cards to a card dispensing area. The receiving area may have a card engaging movable sidewall. The card receiver may be movable and have vertically spaced dividers which define card receiving pockets. A top of the card dispensing area is located above a top of the card receiving area.

Abstract: A hair-setting preparation which contains(1) a solution of at least one terpolymer in an anhydrous or water-containing organic solvent, the terpolymer having been prepared by the copolymerization of(a) an N-alkylacrylamide or N-alkylmethacrylamide having 1 to 4 carbon atoms in the alkyl moiety, with(b) a C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -alkyl ester or C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 -hydroxyalkyl ester of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid, and with(c) an .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated moncarboxylic acid or dicarboxylic acid, and at least 50% of the carboxyl groups in the terpolymer having been neutralized by a lower organic base, and(2) a propellent which consists of at least 30% by weight, based on the total propellent, of a halogen-free propellent gas, in particular a hydrocarbon.

Abstract: Hair-care compositions in the form of aqueous, alcoholic or aqueous alcoholic solutions, creams, gels, emulsions, or of aerosols which optionally contain a propellant are provided which contain at least one polymeric quaternary ammonium salt which contains cationic units of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are the same or different and represent alkyl, cycloalkyl or alkenyl, aryl or aralkyl, or (R.sub.1 and R.sub.2) and/or (R.sub.3 and R.sub.4) together with the nitrogen atom to which they are bonded, form an unsubstituted or substituted heterocyclic ring containing 3 to 6 ring members,A.sub.1 represents an optionally substituted alkylene, cycloalkylene or aralkylene bridging group and A.sub.2 is a group of the formula ##STR2## The compositions are especially useful as shampoos.

Abstract: Described is a process for dyeing keratin-containing material, namely human hair, with developing dyes by applying, successively in any desired sequence or simultaneously, to the keratin-containing material to be dyed, diazo salts and coupling components, and coupling these together, which process is characterized in that thereis used as coupling component an acetoacetic acid arylamide of the formula (1), (2) or (3) ##STR1## wherein X, Y and Z independently of one another each represent hydrogen, a straight-chain or branched-chain alkyl or alkoxy group having 1-4 C atoms, or a halogen atom.

Abstract: Described is a process for dyeing keratin-containing material with developing dyes by applying diazo salts and coupling components successively, in any desired sequence, to the material to be dyed, and coupling them with each other, characterized in that there are used as coupling components specific derivatives of hydroxypyridine or pyridone.
