The two portions are held together by locking means made up of male and female portions which engage each other in such a way as to pull the two portions of the valve toward each other to hold them in tight coupling.

Abstract: The disclosure is of a suction catheter having a valve body including a vertical plunger in a vertical bore and two horizontal tubes, one for connection to a source of suction and one for connection to a patient. In one position of the plunger, the two tubes are aligned with a path through the plunger to provide suction to the patient. In another position of the plunger, the tube connected to the suction is led to the atmosphere whereby suction is completely removed from the patient.

Abstract: The apparatus comprises a T-shaped member adapted to be inserted into the mouth of a patient and feeding oxygen thereto. The T-shaped member is divided into front and rear portions by an apertured wall into which a catheter assembly is to be inserted for insertion into a patient. The aperture in the wall is controlled by a rotary rod or valve having a through-hole which can be aligned with the aperture in the wall in one position and which is out of alignment with the wall in another position.

The sleeve is secured to one end of the tube assembly and extends toward and beyond the end which is inserted into the patient. The sleeve is inflatable to permit easy introduction of the tube assembly into the patient.

Abstract: Fluid dispensing apparatus comprising a housing containing two box-like members, an upper and a lower with the lower box being adapted to slide into the upper box to provide a space beneath it for receiving a plastic bag containing a fluid to be fed therefrom. A drive plate is disposed within and in operative relation with the lower box and a plurality of springs disposed between the drive plate and the lower box cause the lower box to apply pressure to the plastic bag to dispense fluid therefrom.

Abstract: The disclosure is of a catheter assembly including a hollow T-shaped member having a patient end and a rear end which is blocked from the patient end by a wall. A catheter is adapted to be introduced through the rear end of the member into a patient and the rear end includes a sponge, located out of the airway of the patient by the wall but the wall includes means for opening the wall to let the catheter through it for introduction into the patient. The sponge cleans the catheter as it is withdrawn but mucus cannot be returned to the airway to the patient.
