  • Patent number: 5011102
Abstract: A magnetic knife holder has the magnets covered top and bottom by a cowling. The cowling have a curved entry to guide the knife to the magnets. The cowlings have a restricted rear exit slot to reduce the angle of movement of knife with respect to the magnets if the knife is accidentally struck, to thereby assist in retaining the knife on the magnets.

  • Patent number: 4808976
Abstract: A torsion member (12) has opposing protruding end elements (4, 6) configured for transmitting torque therebetween. A first contact mechanism (20, 26) is mounted to a surface (10) of one end (4) of the torsion member (12). The first contact mechanism includes a movable contact (26') disposed between the end elements (4, 6) of the torsion member. A second contact mechanism (18, 28) is mounted to a surface (11) of the other end element (6) of the torsion member (12). The second contact mechanism includes a movable contact (28') disposed near the first contact (26'). The first contact (26') and second contact (28') move toward each other whenever torsion is applied to the torsion member (12). Means (30, 40) are provided for changing the distance between the first and second contacts (26', 28'), and for producing a signal whenever the first and second contacts touch.

  • Patent number: 4546676
Abstract: A torque-multiplying hand wrench incorporating the features of a standard ratchet wrench along with a lever action torque multiplying feature. A torque multiplying lever arm is attached to a cam element, the eccentric of which acts upon yoke-shaped actuator when the lever arm is rotated. The actuator interacts with a standard ratchet device to apply torque to a threaded fastener. The handle of the wrench acts either as a standard ratchet wrench handle or as a reaction arm in conjunction with use of the torque multiplying lever arm.
