  • Patent number: 7308909
Abstract: A solenoid operated valve includes a fluid inlet and a fluid inlet, a common port, a normally open port and a normally closed port combined on an end cap. The valve further includes a coil housing that houses two coils, a first coil and second coil, that are in parallel with each other creating two parallel longitudinal axes for a normally open assembly and a normally closed assembly. The normally open assembly includes a first diaphragm assembly, a plunger rod having barbed ribs on a proximal end thereof, a magnetic pin and a body that is coupled to a distal end of the plunger rod. The normally closed assembly includes a second diaphragm assembly, a plunger and a magnetic post. The first and second coils are simultaneously actuated.

  • Patent number: 7131632
Abstract: A solenoid-operated valve design and method particularly for suited for micro-fluidic applications are disclosed. The solenoid valve contains various structure and features that provide for small dispense volumes, small internal volume, and fast operating speed. Also disclosed is a valve design and method particularly suited for a compact, high-density valve manifold. In a particular embodiment disclosed, the valve uses a diaphragm assembly that ensures zero or little leakage. The solenoid-operated valve further has features allowing for low power consumption.

  • Patent number: 6685165
Abstract: A valve assembly having a cap defining a first and second fluid flow passage for allowing the flow of fluid is attached to a seat member which is coupled to an actuator. A plunger having an adjustably attached diaphragm is maintained within the seat member and the actuator, and the plunger positions the diaphragm over the first and second fluid flow passage. The actuator controls the plunger and determines the retraction of the plunger to allow fluid flow and the insertion of the plunger to prevent fluid flow.

  • Patent number: 6149127
Abstract: An improved valve fitting configured to limit pressure exerted upon a surface of the valve by a sealing surface of the fitting to inhibit the sealing surface from deforming causing the valve to leak is provided. This causes the sealing surface of the fitting to exert a constant pressure upon a sealing surface of a valve body, when the fitting is coupled to the valve body, to form a continuous seal between the fitting and the valve, to inhibit leaks therebetween. When the fitting is coupled to the valve body, the compression member is compressed to limit the pressure that the sealing surface exerts on the valve body, to inhibit the sealing surface from distorting, or deforming, against internal componentry of the valve which can form gaps between the sealing surface and componentry, causing the valve to leak.
