  • Patent number: 4370808
Abstract: A cutting tool for stripping insulation from a cable comprises a shank and a blade, the blade possessing one cutting edge formed at the intersection of a back face and a front face, the front face being concave, and the back and front faces together forming a wedge. In one embodiment, an additional wedge-shaped protuberance is formed out of the front face of the blade at its end substantially perpendicular to the back face of the blade to assist in wedging the insulation being removed from the cable.

  • Patent number: 4179804
Abstract: A tool for removing insulation from a cable includes a plurality of rollers, with the axis of rotation of each such roller being angled relative to the longitudinal axis of the cable at a certain angle, and a further plurality of rollers which are together adjustable so that the angle between the axis of rotation of each such roller is varied relative to the longitudinal axis of the cable.

  • Patent number: 3978582
Abstract: A tool for removing insulation from a cable includes roller means for supporting cables of different diameters while permitting rotation of the tool relative to the cable. The tool includes a blade which is positioned to urge and move the tool and cable relatively axially for each turn of the tool and cable relatively. A bar member is included for limiting relative axial movement of the cable and tool for each turn of the tool and cable relatively, to a certain distance less than such axial distance movement determined by the positioning of the blade, at each turn of the tool and cable relatively.

  • Patent number: 3969818
Abstract: A tool for removing insulation from a cable includes a plurality of rollers for supporting cables of different diameters, while permitting rotation of the tool relative to the cable. The tool includes a blade which is positioned to cut into the insulation of the cable upon such relative rotation. The axis of rotation of each supporting roller is angled relative to the longitudinal axis of the cable so that the cable and tool move relatively axially upon such relative rotation thereof.
