  • Patent number: 7013699
Abstract: The invention herein illustrates a tool and method for use in joining pipes or other tubular fittings having different diameters in a telescopic type joint. The preferred tool provides a pair of dimples or marks on one of the pipes to obstruct insertion as one pipe is slid into another. The obstruction thus provides a uniform overlap of the pipes to ensure sufficient surface area for the material used in the joining process, such as a brazing metal. Overlapping uniformity provides a strong, durable joint. The tool includes a pair of jaws which can be closed along the wall of the tubular member to form for example, a pair of dimples therein. In an alternate embodiment of the pipe fitting tool only one dimple is formed in the pipe wall from a single ram.

  • Patent number: 6269674
Abstract: A method and tools for forming ridges or dimples in tubular members such as copper pipes is provided. A manual tool has a pair of jaws which can be adjustably positioned and has a threaded ram affixed to one of the jaws for rotation. The jaws are adjustable for holding various thicknesses of pipe walls in firm engagement as the ram is manually rotated to form a ridge in the pipe wall. A hydraulic tool is also described for high production requirements.

  • Patent number: 5072960
Abstract: A sterilizer cart for transporting a wheeled carriage, the cart having improved control and docking capabilities utilizing a docking post receptacle having a hinged tongue. The front caster wheel assemblies of the cart are provided with spring-loaded guide members which are selectively urged into and out of indentions in detent members for wheel steering. The invention also provides a method for easily directing the wheeled carriage from the cart along rails for convenient carriage insertion into and extraction from a sterilizer equipped matching rails and a centralized docking post.

  • Patent number: 4932160
Abstract: Closure apparatus and the method of operating the same is presented for an autoclave or other equipment which requires an air tight seal to be maintained. The closure apparatus includes a door which is hingedly joined to a chamber housing. Hinge members attached to the door include a cam connected to a cam shaft which is driven by an electric motor. The can includes a latch member to cause the door to pivot and laterally slide in to engagement with a channel seal surrounding the opening. A movable gasket is in the channel is fluidly urged against the inside of the door to provide an air tight seal thereto when the door is fully closed.
