Publication number: 20240093396Abstract: A device for providing a gas component having an electrolysis unit having a first chamber and a second chamber separated from the first chamber by a separating unit. The first chamber receives an electrolyte and provides a first gas component, and the second chamber provides a second gas component. A pressure inside the second chamber is greater than a pressure inside the first chamber. An electrolyte flow of the electrolyte only occurs in the first chamber and a passage of the electrolyte into the second chamber is prevented to keep the second gas component separate from the electrolyte. A phase separation unit separates the first gas component from the electrolyte to provide the first gas component. Also an aircraft or a spacecraft with such a device.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 29, 2021Publication date: March 21, 2024Inventors: Sebastian MARKGRAF, Fabian FREMDLING, Hans REUCK, Walter JEHLE

Publication number: 20220396891Abstract: Matrix cells are used to improve the regeneration capacity of an electrolyzer system. The electrolyte is electrolyzed in the matrix cell. Gas (predominantly product gas) which has unwantedly accessed the electrolyte space is transported off from the electrolyte space into the gas space envisioned therefor by a degassing device. Additional measures such as ultrasonic transducers and field electrodes may realize electrolyte flow and improved transporting-off of gas.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 8, 2022Publication date: December 15, 2022Inventors: Winfried LOHMILLER, Walter JEHLE, Thomas ECK, Fabian FREMDLING
