    Abstract: A technology is described for transferring a file from an unsecure network to a secure network. An example method may include identifying an unsecure account profile and determining that a file is to be transmitted from an unsecure network to a secure network using a one-way transfer device. In response, the file may be obtained from a file storage location and an unsecure account profile name for the unsecure account profile may be identified. A request may be made that the one-way transfer device to transmit the file and the unsecure account profile name to the secure network. The file and the unsecure account profile name may then be transmitted to the secure network, where a secure account profile corresponding to the unsecure account profile may be identified in the secure network and the file may be placed in a folder associated with the secure account profile.

The backrest (14) has a head restraint (20) with lateral flanks (22), a respective diagonal-belt guide (26) for a vehicle diagonal belt of a vehicle three-point belt being provided on the lateral flanks (22). The diagonal-belt guide has a slot (28) which is open to the front, does not clamp the belt and has a belt-retaining section (30). The belt-retaining section (30) directly and immediately adjoins the front-side slot opening (32) of the slot (28). A spring-loaded closure element (34) is provided on the front-side slot opening (32), the closure element enabling the vehicle diagonal belt to be threaded in a simple manner through the slot opening (32) into the slot (28) and blocking the slot opening (32) in its normal closure position in a spring-loaded, prestressed manner.

    Abstract: Variable viewing angle liquid crystal display screen systems are disclosed. They are useful, e.g. in automatic teller machines where, during parts of a transaction with a user, it is undesirable that information on screen can be read by others. In accordance with the invention, interposed in a conventional display arrangement of reflector (2), backlight (1), diffuser (3), optional brightness enhancer (4, 5) and transmission type screen (6) are a collimator (10) and a variable diffuser (11). If the variable diffuser (11) is set to transparent, the light passing through the transmission type screen (6) is still collimated and accordingly the display on the screen is only effectively visible over a narrow viewing angle. If the diffuser (11) is set to diffuse the collimated light, then the display is visible over a very wide range of angles.

    Abstract: The invention concerns Liquid Crystal Displays (LCD), in which Polymer-Dispersed Liquid Crystal (PDLC) is used. PDLC does not require the use of polarizing filters and half-reflective mirrors, as do some other LCDs. Eliminating the polarizing filters and mirrors eliminates the light attenuation which the filters and mirrors cause. Thus, less light input is required, which increases battery life in devices which are battery-powered. The invention provides a color display by applying color filters to each pixel, and by edge-illuminating the PDLC.
