Abstract: An alignment apparatus for aligning a device, such as a tool or other implement, at a desired angle with respect to a flat surface, comprises a light source for generating a beam of light and means for splitting the beam of light into a plurality of beams for projection onto the surface. The plurality of beams form a pattern of markers or indicators on the surface which changes if the orientation of the apparatus with respect to the surface changes. The apparatus is particularly suitable for aligning a drill or other tool with a wall or other flat fixture.
