  • Publication number: 20240009758
Abstract: A handheld laser system. In certain examples the handheld laser system includes a laser source emitting laser light at a wavelength for performing a material processing operation on a workpiece material with a laser beam of the emitted laser light, a plasma sensor configured to detect plasma emitted from the workpiece material during a material processing operation, and a controller coupled to the plasma sensor and configured to: compare an optical intensity value obtained by the plasma sensor to a threshold value at a time when a predetermined time period has elapsed after the material processing operation has commenced, and produce a control command based on the comparison.

  • Publication number: 20140312018
Abstract: The present invention relates to a dynamic height adjusting system and method that uses capacitance for a head assembly of a laser processing system throughout a process cycle. The proposed system and method involves use of a single frequency in which a change in phase is measured and processed to determine changes in height and distance between a work piece with an increased reliability. The system further enables operative computerized processor control and substantial improvements in process control signal and feedback distribution throughout an integrated system and optional remote interfaces.

  • Patent number: 7478986
Abstract: A lockable nut system for use with threaded steel bar which includes a screw threaded nut for engagement with the threaded steel bar and a locking member which is slidably engageable with the bar. The locking member is adapted to resist rotation about the bar and is also axially engageable with the nut to prevent rotation of the nut. The locking member has one or more fingers to engage the nut with an end of the finger being displaced to engage the nut as a result of deformation of a finger actuating tab or a dished body of the locking member. The locking member may engage the bar by displacement of an end of at least one tongue as a result of deformation of a tongue actuating tab during compression between the nut and a second structure.

  • Patent number: 6735692
Abstract: The present invention provides a method and system for directing a network boot. The method includes obtaining a bootstrap by a client, the client residing in a subnet; obtaining a configuration file by the bootstrap, where the configuration file comprises a map of subnets and their corresponding file servers; determining from the configuration file a file server corresponding to the client's subnet; and obtaining an operating system (OS) image from the corresponding local file server. The method and system provides a bootstrap which, when loaded onto a client, obtains a configuration file from the remote file server. The configuration file contains a map of the network's subnets and their corresponding local file servers. Using this configuration file, the bootstrap obtains an OS image from the local file server which services the subnet in which the client resides.

  • Publication number: 20030111369
Abstract: This invention consists of a carrying case constructed of two outer shells, which are made of a hard and durable material. The outer shells are connected by hinges on one side, which allow the case to be closed and secured by key or combination type locks on the other. A handle and removable shoulder strap are provided for ease of portability. Within each shell of the case is the inner foam type material. This material is available with various ‘cut outs’ to allow for individual cue sticks, cue stick holders/cases, and billiard accessories (chalk, stick tools, etc.) to be inserted and held securely in place within the case during transportation. These foam inserts are interchangeable to allow for specific types of equipment to be transported within the case, so one case can be used for transporting different quantities of cue sticks, different types of cues stick holders/cases, and a variety of billiard accessories (chalk, stick tools, etc.).

  • Patent number: 6473655
Abstract: A data processing system and method are described for creating a virtual partition within an existing partition within a hard disk drive included within the system. A first master boot record is written which includes a partition. The partition defines a first file system to be utilized by the hard drive. A file is created within the partition. The first master boot record is temporarily overwritten with a second master boot record without altering the first file system. The second master boot record includes a designation of the file as a second partition. The second partition defines a second file system. The second partition is designated as the active partition. The data processing system is booted utilizing the second master boot record. The second partition is a virtual partition within the existing partition.
