  • Patent number: 9684045
Abstract: A gradient system according to the invention generates three superimposed gradient fields of which at least one of the three gradient fields is not unique in space (i.e. not bijective) and at least one of the three gradient has areas of the same field strength, which extend in parallel or orthogonally to a approximately U-shaped center plane of the teeth of one jaw of a patient.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 24, 2013
Date of Patent: June 20, 2017
    Assignee: SIEMENS HEALTHCARE GMBH
    Inventors: Walter Märzendorfer, Sebastian Schmidt

  • Patent number: 7844095
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for virtual bowel cleaning are disclosed. A first CT volume data record of an area of the bowel of interest is produced, in which voxels relating to a bowel content are identified and are suitably modified in order to obtain a modified data record without visible bowel contents, which is then visualized. In at least one embodiment of the method, at least one further volume data record is produced of the area of interest, which was recorded by a CT scanner with a different spectral distribution than the first volume data record which was recorded by a CT scanner, with at least some of the voxels relating to the bowel content being identified on the basis of information about a local density and/or atomic number, which is obtained from data in the first and the further volume data record taking account of the different spectral distributions. In at least one embodiment, the method and the apparatus make it possible to increase the reliability of virtual bowel cleaning.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 11, 2007
Date of Patent: November 30, 2010
    Assignee: Siemens Aktiengesellschaft

  • Patent number: 7607833
Abstract: In a method for operation of an imaging medical apparatus, a recumbent board supporting an examination subject is positioned in the scan region of the medical-technical apparatus, an exposure of both a section of the recumbent board and of a part of the tissue of the examination subject to be examined in the scan region is generated, the acquired real position of the section of the recumbent board is compared with an expected position of the recumbent board by image evaluation of the exposure generated with the medical-technical apparatus, and the exposure generated with the medical-technical apparatus of the examined tissue is corrected using the expected-real comparison of the position of the recumbent board.
