Abstract: Embodiments herein provide for inserting advertisements into content. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving a request for insertion of an advertisement into content from an endpoint device. The content is delivered to the endpoint device with advertising signaling in the content. The method also includes comparing policy information to advertising signaling information, in the request, of a content provider providing the content, identifying a tier of service (TOS) of the endpoint device, and determining whether the advertisement can be inserted into the content. If the advertisement can be inserted into the content, the advertisement is selected according to the TOS of the endpoint device and inserted into the content.

Abstract: Methods and systems for directing a user to desired content are described. In an aspect, a user can be directed to desired content through content bundling. As an example, in response to a user setting a digital video recorder (DVR) to record a particular program, a set of programs based on the particular program can also be recorded on the file and/or suggested to the user for recording. The order that the programs appear in the file is determined by a logical sequence, such as the order in which the programs first aired. In an aspect, a user can be directed to desired content during a particular point in current content, such as when the end credits begin to roll. The desired content can be identified as desired content based on the current content.

A session manager manages on demand sessions. A resource manager manages resources associated with the on demand delivery of a digital asset to an on demand client. The architecture is partitioned into logical components. Each logical component interfaces with at least one other logical component through a defined interface. The session manager is a separate logical component from the resource manager.

Abstract: A system and method for identifying which signals provided by a head-end are accessible to CPE of a subscriber in an HFC network. The method includes obtaining a partial list of signals accessible to the CPE, and then applying heuristic rules on the partial list to generate a complete accessible signal list. Obtaining the partial list includes discovering signal information regarding a subset of the signals which are accessible to the CPE; using the discovered signal information to obtain a signal identification of a signal accessible to the CPE; and generating the partial list based on the obtained signal identification. Applying a heuristic rule includes using a bit mask within the obtained signal identification or a naming convention of the obtained signal identification to identify other associated signals. The partial list is then generated based on the obtained signal identification and the signal identifications of the other associated signals.

Abstract: An on demand content delivery platform for delivering on demand digital assets includes a network transport composed of network elements. A content delivery path extends from an application server, through the network transport, to a client. During content delivery, at a network element, data is inserted into the content delivery path to produce a content stream containing inserted in-stream data. In one implementation, the content is conditioned in accordance with instructions present in the in-stream data. In another implementation, the in-stream data represents session information and is utilized for stateless recovery of session information.

Abstract: A content distribution network includes a central content management system that acquires digital assets for distribution over the network to on-demand serving locations for on-demand delivery to customers. A digital asset includes a package of files. The files are processed prior to distribution from the central content management system to provide trick mode support. The content distribution network distributes the processed files from the central content management system to the serving locations. A method includes breaking up the digital asset at the central content management system into chunks, utilizing a pipelined distribution process between the central content management system and the serving locations for the digital asset chunks, and re-assembling the digital asset chunks at the serving locations.

The actuation mechanism includes a cap open at the bottom in which the push button is rotatably mounted, wherein the push button and the cap in the axial direction are rigidly connected to one another. An outer shaping of the actuation mechanism is completely free with the application of the cap.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a motorized drive system for covering and uncovering the top of an open truck box or the like and comprises a laterally operated roll tube for winding and unwinding a flexible cover over the top of a truck box. One lateral edge of the cover is fixed to one side edge of the box opening, and the other lateral edge is attached to a roll tube. A reversible rotary motor rotates the roll tube, in conjunction with an extensible pivot arm and a cable return mechanism utilizing a tapered grooved sheave to provide constant tension and to facilitate smooth and consistent rectilinear movement of the roll tube for winding and unwinding of the cover.

Abstract: An improved semi-submersible unit for use in offshore operations which has a significantly reduced susceptability to heave motions in wave periods which are most likely to be encountered during practical operation conditions. The unit consists of a lower hull or hulls supporting vertical buoyant caisson which also support an upper deck or platform which supports and is supported by a centrally disposed, large diameter buoyant caission which contributes a significant portion of the total water plane area of the vessel when it is submerged to its operational draft. The vessel may be configured for offshore drilling operations, diving support, and various other offshore support functions. When configured for the offshore drilling operation, the central column serves as buoyant chamber and as a primary storage chamber for tubular products which are associated with the drilling function.

C. until the finished resin has reached a dilutability with water of 1:(0.1 to 4) at 20.degree. C., and, before, during or after the condensation reaction, adding less than 25% by weight of a glycol ether of the formulaR(OCH.sub.2 CH.sub.2).sub.n OHin which R denotes alkyl having 1 to 4 C atoms and n denotes an integer from 1 to 5, and/or of p-toluenesulfonamide. The resins are used in particular for the production of molding compositions.

C. with 0.7 n to 3 n mols of formaldehyde, 2 n to 10 n mols alkanol or a mixture of alkanols having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, the carbon chain of which, if having more than 2 carbon atoms, can also be interrupted by an oxygen atom, and 0 to 5 n mols of water, per mol of the aminotriazine, for 0.2 to 20 minutes, under elevated pressure, wherein the improvement comprises said aminotriazine being first heated to a temperature of 60.degree.-90.degree. C.
