Patent number: 11311716Abstract: A variety of arrangements and methods relating to a defibrillator are described. In one aspect of the invention, a defibrillator includes two paddles that each include a defibrillator electrode covered in a protective housing. The two paddles are sealed together using a releasable seal to form a paddle module such that the housings of the paddles form the exterior of the paddle module. An electrical system including at least a battery and a capacitor is electrically coupled with the paddles. The battery is arranged to charge the capacitor. The capacitor is arranged to apply a voltage at the defibrillator electrodes, which generates an electrical shock for arresting a cardiac arrhythmia.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 2018Date of Patent: April 26, 2022Assignee: CARDIOTHRIVE, INC.Inventors: Walter T. Savage, Shelley J. Savage, Walter N. MacLay, Douglas C. Morrison, Thomas K. Geraty, Mark D. Brinkerhoff, Ronald S. Boeder, Tony M. Ton, Jeffrey S. Greger

Patent number: 10828500Abstract: A variety of arrangements and methods relating to a defibrillator and a multiphasic pulse generator are described. In one aspect of the invention, a defibrillator includes two paddles that each include a defibrillator electrode covered in a protective housing. The two paddles are sealed together using a releasable seal to form a paddle module such that the housings of the paddles form the exterior of the paddle module. The multi-phasioc pulse generator includes a first subsystem, a second subsystem, and a switching component is electrically coupled with the paddles. The first subsystem and the second subsystem are arranged to generate a first phase of a pulse and a second phase of the pulse, the first phase of the pulse having a positive phase or a negative phase, and the second phase of the pulse having a phase in opposite polarity to the first phase of the pulse.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 2018Date of Patent: November 10, 2020Assignee: CardioThrive, Inc.Inventors: Walter T. Savage, Shelley J. Savage, Walter N. MacLay, Douglas C. Morrison, Thomas K. Geraty, Mark D. Brinkerhoff, Ronald S. Boeder, Tony M. Ton, Jeffrey S. Greger, Peter D. Gray, Douglas M. Raymond

Publication number: 20160079781Abstract: A portable power source and control device for a smart phone or tablet is releasably attachable to a user's key ring or key chain and sized to be carried in a pocket or purse. The device has an internal rechargeable battery to provide emergency power for operating the user's phone, USB connectors for connection a power source and the phone, an internal microcontroller, and a Bluetooth® wireless communicator. A user actuator generated a locator command causes the phone to ring to indicate its location; and a locator command from the phone causes the device to emit a sound to indicate the device's location. The device can determine and indicate via LEDs the charge level of the battery, and has flash memory for data storage and transfer between devices.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 11, 2014Publication date: March 17, 2016Applicant: GO DEVICES LIMITEDInventors: Polydoros Kyriakoulis, Aristotelis Barakos, Mark Brinkerhoff, Eric Aldenbrook, Thomas Geraty, George William Melcer, Walter N.
